Corey and Jake share a vision for scaling ROAM Beyond, providing immersive experiences, nurturing stewards of the Planet, showcasing connections between humans and nature, and catalyzing global change. ROAM Beyond observed that those who embrace sustainability were seeking travel destinations offering low environmental impact in elevated settings.

ROAM Beyond is rethinking adventure travel by providing a platform for experiences and lodging. We’ve created stylish and sustainable mobile dwellings that elevate the camping experience while giving guests more time to unplug and connect with a destination. Our sites give guests a front row seat to the most awe-inspiring landscapes and provide a responsible basecamp for adventures. The migratory and low-impact nature of our business allows us to consistently operate during peak seasons.

We are growing to meet the demand of a booming market.

Initially imagined as a completely migratory company, we’ve spent three years refining and developing our proof of concept. After putting down roots with our first Flagship location, just outside Glacier National Park MT, we’re also operating seasonal migratory destinations and identifying key markets for future expansion. In the next five years, we plan to have a presence, both Flagship and seasonal pop-up, in 10 travel destinations across the U.S.

ROAM Beyond is perfectly positioned to scale with the right capital investment.

In 2019 ROAM Beyond ran a pilot season in partnership with Airbnb Adventures and gained significant exposure for ROAM Beyond and off-the-grid glamping adventures. In early 2020 we secured debt capital to build the fleet and provide migratory and seasonal lodging for adventurous travelers. Due to the pandemic we shifted our focus and created the highly desirable Haven Experiences which has become the backbone of our first year-round Flagship destination just outside Glacier National Park in Montana, achieving better than 92% occupancy throughout much of July and August. Our biggest obstacles are securing capital to expand our fleet, enhance social advertising pathways, and secure real estate in a competitive market.

Our competitive landscape:

ROAM Beyond entered an emerging market space with few competitors; we compare ourselves to alternative lodging providers such as Under Canvas, Collective Retreats, Autocamp and Getaway. We understand the opportunity to provide sustainable and low-impact lodging in some of the most unique and remote settings while building relationships with domestic adventure travel companies and international travel designers hungry for these unique lodging and adventure based experiences.

This is how we make money.

As with any lodging and experience provider, the bulk of our revenue will come from room nights and experiences booked. Our core focus, though, is to leverage relationships with adventure travel companies and international travel designers looking to sell to travelers seeking authentic and immersive opportunities with companies that have aligned ethos. ROAM Beyond is dedicated to filling that void and building our business around this rapidly growing demand in the marketplace.

As we grow and expand our offerings we expect our revenue to break down as follows:

  • 55-65% from individual and small group room night bookings 
  • 20-30% from adventure-based events, retreats, and weddings 
  • 10-15% from incidentals and on-site experiences

We know we will succeed if we remain nimble, patient and devoted to our mission.

While we know the benefits of scaling ROAM Beyond, but we also know that building the foundation for an incredibly lean, efficiently operated, and solid company is critical before expansion. Our biggest risk is to grow too quickly and too soon. Due to the migratory nature of our fleet and our keen understanding of the seasonal impacts on lodging, recreation, and traditional glamping providers, we have an upper hand on the competition. Airlines have figured out that demand fluctuates seasonally and therefore their fleet needs to do the same. Hotels don’t have this luxury, but ROAM Beyond does. If we fail it is because we have not put enough resources toward revenue and fleet management or marketing and social advertising.
