## Story
Growth in sustainable renewable energy has only been incremental over decades - and most of the decrease in coal has been taken up by natural gas, not renewables. We can’t change what we don’t understand. We need better insights into the technical, economic, political, and environmental barriers to sustainable renewable energy.Quioveo Energy’s mission is to catalyze the actual use of sustainable renewables by the US electric grid, through technologies that enable community ownership and optimize the flow of energy that is already being produced. Our cross-sectional business model connects affluent and historically disinvested communities, residential and industrial users as well as the philanthropic sector.Access to the platform will be based on a combination of a freemium and a subscription model, where customers of different sizes and needs can access more robust versions of Illuminator at different price points. This will be Quioveo’s primary revenue stream as we enter the market and continue to refine the product. (See appendix for a diagram of our revenue model.)“Business Intelligence is the use of historical and current data to provide actionable insights to drive immediate and future business decisions. Along those same lines, Climate Intelligence (CI) is the historical, current, and predictive information on our natural and built systems to power insights for climate mitigation and adaptation. In other words, CI can be defined as the data analysis of climate information to understand what affects climate, how climate is changing, and how those changes affect our society and economy.”-Jessica Eastling, Senior Associate, Better VenturesWe will work first on democratizing information at the intersection of the electric grid, climate and human geography. We aim to have a more informed citizenry and increased participation and ownership of energy assets by communities most impacted by the worst effects of climate change.

## FAQ
1. **Hi, Are you all planning on remaining an LLC for tax purposes? I really like the pass-through model. Also, do you all anticipate becoming profitable any time within the near future? Thanks**
 - Thanks for the question, Lucas! Quioveo plans on remaining an LLC for the foreseeable future. And yes, once we're able to cover the development costs of completing Illuminator, monthly operating expenses will be quite low and should allow the company to become profitable within a year of closing this round.
2. **Hello. When will you start generating revenue? Once you do, what are your revenue goals for the first 5 years?**
 - Leonardo, Thank you very much for your question. When we successfully close the round in June, we expect to have a functional beta of Illuminator to take to market in Q3 2021. So from Q3 2021 to the end of 2022, we are projecting $300k in revenue, growing an average of 231.25% per year over the next 5 years.
3. **Hey there. Will Thursday's event be recorded for viewing later? I unfortunately won't be able to make it at the scheduled time. Thanks in advance!**
 - Hi Thomas, yes it will be recorded and we will post it as an update here when it's ready. Encourage as many folks as possible to attend in real time so you can make sure your questions get addressed!
4. **Hi. I understand you are anticipating initial customers will be non-profits and local governments. You also mention you have about 10 customers with initial commitments of interest. Can you say who/what they are, and how will they value/pay for this service? I know it will be ...**
 - Thanks for these questions, Adam. Yes, we anticipate these will be our first customers, and they are 3 philanthropic organizations, 4 small DER producers/installers and 4 NGOs. We have a business model that is a combination of freemium and paid subscription users. These users are in the middle tier of our pricing structure. We are confident that this number of first customers in this tier allows us to meet our revenue goals as we go to market. They’re compelled to pay for the service because ...
5. **I'm very intrigued by your initiative. Isn't part of the problem that all our power systems have been privatized, thus complicating the transmission of power between disconnected systems? Do you have plans to unite disparate power utilities?**
 - Hi Andrew, Thank you very much for your interest and for reaching out to us. Great question! This came up a lot in recent national conversations around the Texas grid failures in February 2021. In the context of the US electric system, Texas is a world unto itself since it self-selected to be isolated in both energy infrastructure and regulation. Their isolation prevented them from getting help and exacerbated an already tragic situation. No other part of the country is likely to be in the si...

## Q&A
- Q: I'm very intrigued by your initiative. Isn't part of the problem that all our power systems have been privatized, thus complicating the transmission of power between disconnected systems? Do you have plans to unite disparate power utilities?
 - A: Hi Andrew, Thank you very much for your interest and for reaching out to us. No other part of the country is likely to be in the situation of having both their electricity generation infrastructure compromised as well as not being able to get energy supplied from other electric jurisdictions. So, this particular problem when compared to other electric jurisdictions is unique to one state: Texas and its electric jurisdiction, ERCOT. At Quioveo Energy, we don’t see a big issue with disconnected systems interrupting power transmission. Everyday, all day, electricity traffic controllers across jurisdictions work to ensure the grid is balancing supply and demand. They do an excellent job. Quioveo also doesn’t think the biggest issue with the US electric grid in the context of climate change is that most electric utilities are owned by quasi-monopolistic private entities, although that is true. The biggest, most strategic problem with the US electric grid that Quioveo targets is that its architecture is centralized, inequitable, opaque and has huge technical issues that stymy the flourishing of sustainable energy. In the context of climate change, the future we envision at Quioveo, is one where a large network of small distributed energy sources will work on top of or underneath the current centralized grid. This will make the current grid more resilient. It will empower individuals to be more self-reliant in terms of power and in terms of revenue generation. Lastly, it will help us all by making our energy system more green. You can’t change what you can’t see. That’s why our first product, Illuminator, is a tool that seeks to bring light to this opaque system, democratize the space and bring in new players. Overtime, Illuminator will allow us to build a larger platform and make our bigger vision a reality. We hope this both answers your question and excites you about investing in our campaign to make it a reality! In gratitude, Leo
- Q: Hi. I understand you are anticipating initial customers will be non-profits and local governments. You also mention you have about 10 customers with initial commitments of interest. Can you say who/what they are, and how will they value/pay for this service? I know it will be subscription model, but why is the spending worth it for them and how much? Also, how will initial data be populated on the platform for these customers?
 - A: Thanks for these questions, Adam. They’re compelled to pay for the service because of the visibility of previously opaque information Illuminator will provide. This is valuable to them because access to this information will advance the wider mission of their work, either as renewable generators competing in the energy space or as changemakers whose successful campaigns hinge on better access to targeted climate intelligence. As for your last question about the ‘how’ of the data population, please clarify your question so we can be sure to get it answered for you!

- Q: Is there any update on this or is the company finished?
- Q: Any update on where things stand with Quioveo as of December 2022?
 - A: Hi Todd! Thank you for the note. Yes- ILLUMINATOR™ is launched and we are currently squarely focused on business development. You can see more about it in Quioveo's most recent email update to investors which went out via email on 9/13/2022.
- Q: I find this investment interesting. After reading the materials, it is unclear to me where you plan to get your source data (i.e. grid, usage). What technology source integrations do you plan to have that will inform your platform? Also, have those source system integration agreements been finalized?
 - A: Hello Michelle, Thank you very much for reaching out to us. Some of the data is public. For obvious reasons, we are mindful when talking about the non-publicly available data, as this has to do with intellectual property. We are very confident that we have what we need (data, technology and the partners) to be able to deliver the product/s we promise in the calendar we’ve set. With some basic legal protection in place, we will be happy to talk to you one-on-one about data sources, technology source integrations, techniques, etc. Please reach out to us directly (clientservices@quioveo.com). In deep gratitude!
