## Story
For millennia we told stories as a survival instinct to pass on knowledge. Today we understand the science, and recognize storytelling as not just a way to survive, but as the most effective way to entertain, persuade, and educate. We are all wired for story, and more people than ever want to tell better ones. But, good storytelling isn’t easy — especially when there are so many new ways to tell them. Until now…Prewrite is a SaaS app for architecting great stories, improving existing ones, and communicating them easily and effectively. Launched in 2020 as a specialized solution for screenwriters, it is today used by individuals and businesses across many industries and formats. We’re not a “writing” app, we’re the world’s first “story” app.Features and PlansHere’s a quick rundown of all the subscriptions available in Prewrite:FREEWith a free account, you get most features but are limited to a single story. Copy one from our library, upload a work in progress, or start with a template. Either way, Prewrite will help guide and shape your idea into a complete story. See, measure, and understand the impact of your work, and pitch it with an interactive slideshow that builds automatically as you develop your idea.PREMIUM - $14.99/moPremium has the same features as Free, but comes with unlimited stories, making Prewrite the perfect place to store and develop all of your ideas. You can also import and export projects using our very own Open Story Format. Premium members also enjoy a higher level of customer support.PRO - $29.99/moIf you need to collaborate and maintain a high level of security and control, you've gotta go Pro. Pro comes with everything Premium does, but with the added ability to invite others to view and/or edit your private work. Explore your favorites, copy one, and start playing around. Why Our Users Love PrewriteFeature development is driven by a continuous dialogue with our users. Here's what they have to say about our progress so far!The OpportunityWe’ve identified four major markets embracing and profiting from Prewrite:Writers (+3M)Today’s audience has an unprecedented intuition for what happens next. Prewrite helps screenwriters, novelists, journalists, and bloggers, craft original and unpredictable storylines that surprise and delight. Collaboration features promote tighter communication between writers, directors, producers, and all creatives as the story evolves, raising the overall quality.Creators (+50M)The number of creators on YouTube, Instagram, Twitch, and other platforms is exploding. For most who enter, it's a side gig, but for the two million using storytelling best practices, it becomes a living. Prewrite can give this superpower to every creator, providing a faster path to economic sustainability and growth.Brand Storytellers (+125M)In the cut-throat world of advertising and social media marketing, every startup, SMB, and Fortune 500 company needs to tell great stories that lift their brand and communicate value and purpose to the world. Prewrite is a format-agnostic, “single source of truth” for building, maintaining and sharing company stories. Our enterprise-level features are helping to meet the demands of this growing market.Students (+1B)Most countries around the globe introduce the fundamentals of storytelling and narrative structure as early as primary school. Technology in the classroom, and an emphasis on remote learning, have led to a greater demand for collaborative, cloud-based software for carrying out assignments. Prewrite meets all of these criteria and is built specifically for story.TractionWe have accomplished so much, and we have you to thank!Since our launch +5k users have created +6k stories, written +80k scenes, and developed +30k characters. Our annual recurring revenue hovered around $12k for a while, but features launched recently have increased that by more than 50% (in less than a week). Demand for our story consulting services continues to grow. Beyond revenue, these services provide feedback that contributes greatly to the quality of the app and the planning of new features. We have developed a proven approach to user acquisition by leveraging our original content on owned and earned channels. Our SEO is fantastic and we have a growing audience on social media (Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, LinkedIn).Prewrite continues to be adopted globally, with half of our users outside the US.Product Road MapThis WeFunder is focused on the development of features needed to satisfy every type of modern storyteller. Here are just a few ways Prewrite aims to completely disrupt the world of storytelling:Blockchain IP protection - indisputable proof of how a story evolved, who contributed, and when. Prewrite can be the authority for story authorship.Story NFT - If we are the authority on story authorship, we are the authority on ownership as well, and can determine the ownership of all derivative works. Animation / Virtual Production - Imagine being able to press a button, and see your story idea come to life in video instantly. By marrying Prewrite with bleeding-edge technologies currently being produced by companies like Epic Games, Pixar, and Nvidia, this most definitely can become reality.CompetitionPrewrite is the only story development tool that brings ideation, outlining, writing, and pitching into a single, user-friendly process. This means we compete in a number of spaces. Here’s how it breaks down:Outlining Tools: This category includes some very low-tech products, like note cards, whiteboards, and sticky notes, but it also covers higher-end apps for organizing ideas. However, very few apps are for outlining stories specifically.Writing Tools: Almost all writing programs are format-specific and don’t bother to visualize the story behind the words. Prewrite does.Pitching Tools: There are many tools for designing and delivering presentations. None make storytelling a foundational aspect.More About Our Team We are a core group of creators and developers who have first-hand experience with the challenges of storytelling in both new and traditional media. We built Prewrite to become better storytellers ourselves, and it worked. It’s a superpower that we want to share with the world. Our co-founders have been building businesses and new technologies together for nearly two decades. ## FAQ
1. **Hi Sam and Team, Is there anyway I can talk to you? Future investor with some great ideas that will help the company expand tremendously. Thank you.**
 - Hi Grant. Thanks for reaching out. You or anyone else looking to connect can feel free to email me directly at spro@prewrite.com.
2. **Hey team, I'm starting to get used to using the app. Pretty darn cool piece of technology here. Just wanted to say that I think you should lower the entry levels for the perks. Something like $500 for lifetime "premium" and $1000 for lifetime "pro" is (imo) more palatable and ...**
 - Hey Travis, that's great! Thanks for reaching out, it's timely and well taken.
3. **Hi, as an amateur writer myself and even as an employee of a big corporation, I see tremendous value in your product. My question is more focused on the team. How did you meet? Do you have previous startup experience? What drives you? To sum up, what's your story? :) thank you...**
 - Hi Francisco, I'm glad you see the promise in what we're doing. Good question about the team, we hope to do a video update soon to detail that a bit. In the meantime, the short-ish story is that Davido and I went to high school together. We became great friends, and have been kicking around ideas and building stuff from the beginning. Our skillset and brains are crazy complementary, with Davido more on the creative side, while I am more technical. After college, we both became entrepreneurs i...
4. **Was going to invest but could not find any info on investment.**
 - Your investment buys future equity in Prewrite Inc. under what's called a SAFE agreement. The basic idea is that down the line when we raise a subsequent round of institutional funding, your investment would convert to preferred shares. The SAFE agreement provides you with a discount or cap on the valuation, giving you a more lucrative deal than the VC would get in that round. Dig into the "DETAILS" tab above and specifically take a look at section 13 of our Form C found here: https://wefunde...
5. **I am having difficulty reconciling two points. On one hand, you have major studios using your software (congratulations!). On the other hand, you have only $1,000 in monthly revenue. Can you help me understand why you don't have more revenue when you have such large clients?**
 - Hi John, great question. We don't have major studios using Prewrite (yet), we have writers who do work for major studios using the product. In order to satisfy studios, we need enterprise functionality, which is a VERY important part of what this raise will help us deliver.

## Q&A
- Q: Impressive piece of software you've built there, congratulations! (1) Your development team is in-house or outsourced? (2) If they're in-house, how many are there and are they all full-time salaried employees?
 - A: Thank you Senitiki! If you're impressed now, just wait 'till you see what 2022 brings :) To date, Prewrite has been built entirely by Davido and myself (we have a long history of building web apps and businesses together). As of Nov 1st, we are full-time salaried. This is a highly efficient scenario and it will continue to just be the two of us for at least the next few months. As Prewrite's dev needs grow we plan to expand our in-house team.
- Q: Why crowdfunding?
 - A: Put simply: because we have a vibrant community of users. These folks not only love the product, but have played a major role in shaping it. Crowdfunding gives us an opportunity to double down on that, and involve them on a deeper level. We think this will “pay dividends”. Also, as a team, we’re excited about Crowdfunding and the major strides it has taken in recent years. We think allowing anyone to invest in startups is important and creates better companies.
- Q: Hi Sam and Team, looking over your website and video, this does look like impressive software that you've created so far, so congrats on that front. This is one of those "cliche but important" questions, how will you get more customers? Do the founders (or current investors) have prior relationships with studios/producers ?
 - A: Hi Amit, thank you so much! We do have relationships with a few studios, producers, and professional writers. Some of these relationships will likely result in partnerships, which we’ll announce down the line as we formalize them. Prewrite is being used for some projects which have a very good chance of becoming well known, and that should certainly help us continue to grow as a tool for screenwriters and producers. Please keep in mind, however, that although TV/film industry represents some of the most sophisticated and well-known storytellers on the planet (and they are very important to us), they make up only a small fraction of what we see as our total addressable market. TV/Film professionals that can benefit from Prewrite number in the hundreds of thousands, on the other hand, independent “content creators” (think YouTubers), number in the hundreds of millions. User acquisition for these content creators will utilize partnerships with platforms (that’s where our advisors come in). These platforms want their creators to tell better stories. We'll also leverage our original content on owned and earned channels. To date, we've found the best way to get a Prewrite user is for them to experience a shared Prewrite story. I should also mention that we have a handful of customers that are waiting on the sidelines for features. As we hit our first major developmental milestone under this raise we expect an almost instant and significant increase in users and revenue.... most notably from the release of our Pro tier subscription level and Enterprise support.
- Q: I am having difficulty reconciling two points. On one hand, you have major studios using your software (congratulations!). On the other hand, you have only $1,000 in monthly revenue. Can you help me understand why you don't have more revenue when you have such large clients?

 - A: Hi Francisco, I'm glad you see the promise in what we're doing. After college, we both became entrepreneurs in our own right, but soon began building products and businesses together. Fifteen years later we're still at it! We have a tremendous amount of experience with web startups. We know how to build teams, but are also extremely capable and hands-on at this stage. Everything to see today has been designed and built by us, and we plan to do a whole lot more. We obviously can’t do everything, which is where our buddy Trent comes in. He’s a biz dev and marketing pro who we worked with on another project. He started his career in the TV advertising world then pivoted to digital marketing as the Social Web took off. He’s also a native content creator, having hosted and produced multiple podcasts and YouTube shows. Trent was the obvious choice when we needed someone to pursue partnerships and crank up marketing for Prewrite. As a team, our love for technology and a good story is what drives us. We can clearly see Prewrite becoming the universal tool for story.
- Q: Hi there. Just curious as an investor if there is any update on what is going on and how it affects those that invested?
- Q: Hello, we would love to have a financial update for the company. The last one was 15 months ago. Any new information about the software? Forecast? Thank you so much. Miriam
- Q: Hello, I just wanted to find out when the 2023 financials will be posted and if there are going to be future fundraisings? Any recent forecasts?
- Q: I am a Prewrite paid subscriber. For weeks now, I posted through my Prewrite account questions and even asked for a video chat to ask question about my subscription, but only the bot replied asking to wait. I am still waiting in vain. Your product is fine but there is no customer service to answer just 1 question. It disappointing and annoying. So why I am paying? Just to use a piece of app with no customer service in sight. I am seriously thinking about rescinding my subscription. Thank you.
 - A: Hello Kaba. Not sure how we missed your messages, but we're very sorry. We'll investigate and make it right. In the meantime we'll reach out to you directly via email to address your specific questions.
- Q: Hi! Any updates on your revenues, new customers, customer retention etc. since the version 2 release back in March? Thanks.
 - A: Our new pricing and Pro-level subscription has been well received, and has led to a ~30% increase in monthly revenue from individual subscribers. We’ve also activated just under 50 new enterprise team seats. We’re hopeful that we’ll hit our $100k ARR goal by the end of the year, but regardless are very happy with our progress given we’ve spent almost zero resources on sales and marketing. That will change in the new year, but for now we must remain focused primarily on development per the constraints of our current funding.
- Q: I invested in Prewrite a few months ago. How do I claim my Investor Perk (Lifetime Premium subscription to Prewrite)? Thank you.
 - A: Hi Roger. Thanks so much for your investment! We were advised to wait until the funding round closes to distribute perks. That's because the total amounts of each investor are locked in at that point, making the process much more efficient. We'll be closing the round on Sept 23rd 2022. That said, if it's an urgent matter, please email me at spro@prewrite.com from the email address you signed up with, and I'll see what I can do.
- Q: Under details, you wrote this "We expect revenues to be in the range of $5-10k/mo by Jan 2022.". It's now mid-December 2021, do you think you're still on target to hit that revenue range goal? Why or why not? Thanks!
 - A: Hi Senitiki. No, we won't achieve $5-10k/mo by Jan 2022. I’d say we’re still about 6m out from that. Fundraising has taken much more effort than we expected and has slowed everything down. We’ll make some new, better-informed projections later in Q1 after we get this next big update out in the wild and are able to switch back into marketing/fundraising mode.
- Q: 1. How are you protecting your IPs? 2. Is Celtx a competitor?
 - A: Good questions. (1) Our code and proprietary algorithms are copyrighted and protected wherever possible by obscuration and trade secret. We also have pending trademark applications for our branding. (2) Yes, as a professional screenwriting tool Celtx is a competitor, but there are two important distinctions/clarifications... First and foremost, Prewrite isn’t just a “writing” program, it’s a “story” tool. Although some professional screenwriting tools like Celtx have some outlining capabilities they leave it entirely up to the writer to implement good storytelling fundamentals -- with Prewrite, it’s baked in. Simply said, we put the story first. Second, the need for architecting good story goes far beyond screenwriting. Demand for good storytelling is increasing everywhere, especially with content creators and businesses.
- Q: Was going to invest but could not find any info on investment.
 - A: Your investment buys future equity in Prewrite Inc. under what's called a SAFE agreement. Something like $500 for lifetime "premium" and $1000 for lifetime "pro" is (imo) more palatable and may get you a bit more traction. Just my two cents. Keep up the good work building out the product.
 - A: Hey Travis, that's great! Thanks for reaching out, it's timely and well taken.
