Our Team

Chief Executive Officer
25yrs of experience in natural building, with the introduction of hemp and the plight of our planet changed my trajectory from more passive to urgent Sustainable, Eco-friendly, Bio-advancements is critical to our environment for future generations.
I advocated for hemp for my grandchildren's future because Hemp is the most important plant on the planet. Firsthand experience growing and processing and the supply chain challenge to acquire it for my own building project was the catalyst to my understanding of the need for modernized processing, advocacy just wasn't enough.
Co-Founder PR Manager
I help establish open clear communications for our company and our networks. With 15 plus years in different business fields, public relations and networking is my favorite part of any business.

Leaving corporate America in 2013, two years after graduating the University of South Dakota with an economics focused B.B.A. Over the past 7 years, I finished my military service and become a mom, following the road less traveled pursuing hemp.

Our Story

“The best way to treat obstacles is to use them as stepping-stones. Laugh at them, tread on them, and let them lead you to something better.”

Enid Blyton, Mr Galliano's Circus

Beginning with Kim's Dream to build green.

In 2015 using hemp, she wanted to grow her own home and inspire a sustainable building movement. Turned out, governmental challenges were just the tip of the iceberg to getting a usable end product, processing was the real bottleneck thus the of birth Plan-it Hemp.

For starters the governments war on Hemp in 1937 was instigated by influential capitalist trying to squeeze out their most notable competition and had no real basis to ever make Hemp illegal. The use of Hemp for centuries is well known and documented,  Christopher Columbus’s ships each carried over 80 tons of hemp rigging and hemp canvas sails. Also, our very own governments campaign, Hemp for Victory, "A black-and-white United States government film" made during World War II and released in 1942, explaining the uses of hemp, encouraging farmers to grow as much as possible. During World War II, the Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 was lifted briefly to allow for hemp fiber production to create ropes for the U.S. Navy but after the war hemp reverted to its de facto illegal status.

Fast forward  to February 7, 2014, President Obama signed the Farm Bill of 2013 into law. Section 7606 of the act, Legitimacy of Industrial Hemp Research, defines industrial hemp as distinct from marijuana and authorizes institutions of higher education or state department’s of agriculture in states that legalized hemp cultivation to regulate and conduct research and pilot programs.

Unfortunately, Idaho along with a few other States continued to reject hemp as a legal crop, so I looked at other States in which to take up my cause and Montana's 100% federally compliant Pilot Program became the obvious choice. So, in 2016 I became the 3rd person in the state licensed for the program and began transitioning to Montana. In 2017, I planted 13 acres of hemp, but was denied the right to water it by the US Government despite being 100% compliant and licensed to grow Hemp, causing a complete crop loss. Focused on righting this wrong, I fought the Bureau of Reclamation, the Agency that controls Federal water and won, and later that year the Hemp Farming Act was signed into Law, but 2018  had many milestones Plan-It Hemp established with a solid team in April, by summer, under the mentorship of one of the most experienced Hempcrete builders in the UK, the Butte renovation project house in Butte, MT began.  In the fall I traveled to Holland(birthplace of my Mother) visiting the largest hemp processing facility in Europe, and then onto 2 Canadian facilities.  I also purchased processing equipment from China to process the 2018 hemp crop, entered into a MOU with Montana Tech to research hemp as a natural building material and helped procure a $10,000 grant from Montana Farmers Union for a weed suppression study.

The desire of builders, manufacturers and consumers to access a better, more environmentally responsible material was obvious and I began to identify the reasons for the disconnect 1;  Hemp is an extraordinary plant, but "traditional" processing methods destroy its most desirable traits. 2; Farmers are anxious to add to crop rotation, but need assurance there is an actual market. 3; manufacturers have to trust supply chain is able to be actualized  4; Lack of historical financial in this new industry make traditional funding extremely difficult and impedes the ability to put infrastructure in place to address 1, 2 & 3.

Throughout 2019-2020 we continued to focus on solving the bottleneck and made a huge breakthrough in summer 2020. Finalizing our System prototype and phase 1 proof of concept. Our initial product feedback from various sectors was extremely positive from potential clients prepared to supply LOI's once we are established, further affirming and giving us the confidence that this was the sustainable and environmentally responsible system everyone has been seeking.

So, in January 2021, with the proceeds from the sale of my house in Idaho, Plan-it Hemp purchased its first processing machine and opened the first Hemp fiber processing facility in Montana. Operations set to begin in spring 2021.

Providing an outlet for farmers looking to sell their baled hemp stalk after grain sales.
Using hemp's strengths this innovative processing system capitalizes on the plants properties, 70% of the plant is hurd for hempcrete, pressboard and other green building materials, 25% bast fiber, for Bio- textiles and Natural Fiber Reinforced Polymers NFRPs,  5% incomplete fiber on hurd, used as insulation and animal bedding. Our system is unparalleled in that it protects the plant’s strongest qualities by not mechanically damaging, chemically altering, or long winter retting breaking it down unnecessarily.

This scalable design will allow our company to grow organically, as we have priced our product in line with current market prices in an industry where demand is greater than supply. Our estimates are conservative in nature allowing for the learning process as we get up and going.

Plan-it Hemp will spur the industry into a not-yet-reached efficient economies of scale removing the cost prohibitive barriers to companies excited to incorporate USA grown hemp into their products

We hope you join with us on this extraordinary journey to make the world a better place for future generations.
