Ian and Brittany Bentley traveled to Ethiopia in 2014 on an adoption journey and were so inspired and captivated by the community - they stayed. While living in Addis Ababa, they met incredible women overcoming the odds, discovered beautiful traditions, and learned about world-class materials that have been the backbone of luxury brands for decades, but with no recognition or growth to show for it.

The Parker Clay idea was born with a mission to bring these beautiful products to the world, create jobs to empower vulnerable women, and celebrate traditional, sustainable, and ethical craftsmanship. Over the past 8 years, we have proven the power of this idea and with your help we are ready to grow our impact.

The Fashion Problem

Over the last two decades the industry has sped toward an unsustainable model of cheap prices and faster trend cycles. The result is an exploited work force and an industry that is 2nd to oil in polluting the earth.

We Built a Better Way

Inspired by the women and resources of Addis Ababa, we have created a better way to bring handcrafted luxury bags to market.

Better Bag. We are a direct-to-consumer digitally native business, fully integrated from the raw materials to our customers. This allows full transparency and control over our product and service and the result is a premium bag that you can feel good about buying.

Better Production. Our leather is ethically sourced and sustainably raised by family-owned and operated ranches surrounding Addis Ababa. The premium quality leather is crafted in our factory by women paid a living wage and benefits, with career advancement and financial literacy opportunities for all employees.

A Better World. We have created an efficient and ethical supply chain that nourishes the community while providing a luxury bag at a fair price. Our impact as a Certified B Corporation is real and it’s growing.
