Our packets are not generated through the normal method of multiplexing a lower bandwidth RF baud (simple OOK) rate signal to increase our speed. Our light sources just simply turn on and off the light to make 1s and 0s. This is called simple OOK or on, off keying. If we lose data it is recovered by using a forward error correction FEC subroutine in our FPGA (Field programmable gate array) we have in our MVP1 product we are designing and assembling right now. The last prototype 3 did not have that functionality. We did observe a brief fairly heavy rainstorm when it was operating between 2 buildings and it did not skip a beat.
