From both a vendor and consumer perspective. With Oodles, the vendor doesn't have to pre-sell unused inventory at a steep margin, but still can advertise a significant discount to make consumers interested in their product offering because of the pricing value of the third tier of our model. Our initial investment was $17,000 ($8500 each) and we have managed our finances very carefully. We have long term plans for the company and will continue to manage our finances with the same vigor.   - A: Vendors servicing students in University towns know the annual cycle of college students very well, including the downtimes of summer and the Holidays. Our goal, with the current students target demographic, is to grow their business incrementally during all months beyond what they experience without having OodlesDeals. Our long term goal is to extend to the general population using OodlesDeals, not just college students, as we scale to a critical-mass over the next several years. College students have helped us prove proof of concept so far, that OodlesDeals gives them a chance to spend time with their friends and benefitting from the value of doing this together. We believe this is a timeless insight.
- Q: Do you have a patent?
  - A: We received a provisional patent in April 2017. Since then, we have employed multiple patent and trademark strategies. For details, please read the company presentation embedded on the Oodles Corporation WeFunder front page.
- Q: What is the stop a company like groupon from simply copying this idea of 'group' discounts?
  - A: There are many answers to this question. One of the most relevant is a company's mission drives their business process and marketing strategies. Groupon is focused on consumer discovery, which is more transactional in nature. Oodles is focused on getting people to spend more time together, which is inherently relationship-building focused. Each of our companies utilizes approaches that best accomplish their respective missions.
