I am an ER physician (and prior to my current position, was an anesthesiologist). We live on 5-acres in Kona, Hawaii with over 100 animals and have a fully functional operating suite, including medications, surgical instruments and an anesthesia machine. (which we use for free spay/neuter clinics which we run as a service to our community during our vet student internship programs). If it came to it, I could fix your wounds and probably (safely!) take out your appendix in my backyard! We also have a generator. We are definitely not "preppers" but we are certainly prepared.
My biggest challenge...
Finding enough time to work full-time as a physician, as well as run the animal sanctuary, which includes daily hands-on animal care and handling all of the bookkeeping and tech (including developing the website and our eCommerce site), while also finding time to remain active as an athlete (2013 Kona Ironman World Championship finisher) and musician.
I want to invest in...
I have enjoyed investing in 2 movie productions and one sports company but am also very interested in tech, science and medical companies. I consider myself an expert in Medical Cannabis and am waiting for the right company in the area to come along. At the moment, there are still too many unknowns over federal regulations and no real industry standards.
I can be most helpful at...
I am a physician board-certified in Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine and Addiction Medicine. I have also worked as the Medical Director for a hospice agency and currently work as an ER physician. I am an expert in cannabis-medicine and have written multiple articles on it, moderate a facebook group and have lectured to both medical and public groups on it. I am also the owner and co-founder, with my wife, of a non-profit (501c3) exotic animal sanctuary which we created 20 years ago. We have an annual budget of over $100,000 with no salaried employees. As the principal investor in an internet start-up (in 1995), 30-years as a self-employed physician and 20-years running a non-profit, I believe I have some entrepreneurial bona fides.
I think we can fix America by...
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and just say it: get rid of Trump and most of the Republican party.
My most influential mentor is...
Some of my medical school professors whose names would be meaningless to you.

Curious how well the companies have done? Or how many raised follow-on financing?
Some fine print: 1) These numbers include startups currently live on Wefunder if they pass their minimum target. 2) Some startups use two different laws at the same time (i.e., Regulation D and Regulation Crowdfunding).
