Our Founder

Why Military Talent Partners?

I launched Military Talent Partners in 2018 to connect veterans and military spouses to meaningful careers all over the United States. Through mentorship, coaching, and mindful matching, we can pair the right talent with the right opportunity - and it all starts with preparing for your future.

First, I had to level with people.

When I transitioned from active-duty Navy, I struggled. It was so much harder than I imagined, and I didn't even know where to start. It was post-9/11. No one knew how to talk to me, and I didn't know how to talk to them. Fast forward throughout 10 years in the corporate world, I faced lay offs, got fired without cause, and watched my entire team be disbanded.  More than once, I found myself in the same struggle I faced post-military.

What I didn't know then, is that we all struggle in some way. At one point or another, we have likely all been there. The pathway to career success needs to become transparent, explained, and with empathy to disarm fear of failure, and appeal to all.

I wanted to create a way to share my experiences, mistakes, and lessons learned so that others can have a smoother transition filled with successes, not failures.

A solution for all.

What do people need to know to figure out what they actually want to do? How can we teach them how to implement the process to finding meaningful employment? Most people rush to create a resume, and summarize their experience, then spray and pray their applications all over the place, hoping someone picks them for the team. This most often results in underemployment, job dissatisfaction, and retention issues for employers.

Too often, joblessness leads to hopelessness, and hopelessness leads to suicide. With the highest unemployed population in U.S. history, we have to take care of each other to find the path forward.

We know that by putting in the hard work first, and creating a professional identity, we can teach job-seekers how to tell their story. We can show anyone how to start from wherever they are in the process, and move forward towards their own meaningful career.

The solution was to create an environment that would foster accountability and community so that those going through the program know they're not alone, and can count on their fellow participants to hold them to the fire. We needed to make it easily accessible from anywhere in the world, and it has to work for everyone.

MISSION: Career Transition

In March 2019, we launched our first cohort of more than 30 participants. Since then, we've had three additional cohorts, bringing our participants to 105. We believe by making this program more affordable and accessible to all, we can better prepare anyone for meaningful employment. We can give them the knowledge, tools, and mindset they need to be successful.

Among the participants in MISSION: Career Transition, 85% secured a meaningful career by end of the program. 10% secured a meaningful career in less than 30 days post-cohort, and 5% of participants chose to re-take a future cohort to spend more time working on their career goals.

In the past 12 months, employers who have hired our participants have held 100% retention of these employees not only diversifying their workforce, but allowing them to spend less time hiring new talent, and cultivating the new talent they've invested in.

It is our belief that MISSION: Career Transition effectively prepares professional job-seekers with the necessary know-how to be successful in their own carer search, and in the workforce they will join.
