Local delivery is indeed for the larger plants, those typically taller than 4 or 5 feet in overall height, although pot size and weight can play a factor in how a plant needs to be delivered too. Note that customers tend to get multiple plants in the same order so we bundle those items together when there’s a tall plant in the order, and some local delivery orders can include smaller plants as a result. We’re shipping about 65% of our orders going outside of California. This is up from 40% just a couple of months ago. So shipping is increasingly important as we shift from local to nationwide. And what we’ve noticed has been driving that growth, and where we’ll be putting more effort, is increasing the availability of items to non-California audiences. This includes developing packaging that lets us ship even larger plants, including those with unique needs, as well as offering local delivery as an option in our top markets like NY, Chicago, and DC. At the same time we’re developing targeted city-specific advertising, partnering with local retail shops to get our plants displayed (currently we are in Interior Define stores nationwide as well as select b8ta locations), and holding brand activation events to meet people face to face. In California where we do local delivery with our own drivers this difficulty is mitigated by having full control of the delivery process. We are currently able to maintain positive contribution margins, but obviously there would be cost savings on shipping as a result of being closer to some of our customers, many of which are on the East Coast. Overall, we have a strong competitive advantage on the shipping side, as a result of the expertise we've built over the years. 2) There are about 18% repeat orders, meaning orders from customers that have purchased from us before. We make sure customers come back to us by ensuring every experience they have is great, and offering plants of different sizes for every room in their house as well as their office, and also having a robust collection of gifting options. Gifting is very good at driving repeat customers, especially this time of year when we see customers placing 5+ orders for friends and family. There's an inherent virality to gifting as well, since part of the gift recipients end up converting to customers later on, which reduces our customer acquisition costs. 3) We have played around with Christmas trees in the past, but it ended up being a logistical distraction as it took away resources from our core business. At the moment we are focusing on repurposing our existing plants and having them fit the occasion.
