## Story
The passion for baking runs in the family, as my grandfather was a baker in France. Le Bread Xpress is my way of continuing what my grandfather started 80 years ago, but with a new, modern twist. Bread is a staple of daily life, not only in France, but across the world. Photo of my grandfather and father in the 1940s in front of their bakery in Nantes, FranceAfter moving to the US, my daily quest became locating the best bread. Most findings lacked freshness or quality. Meanwhile, an innovative baguette machine in France provided the perfect inspiration, and I resolved to bring this technology and new concept of the micro-bakery to the US market. The Micro-Bakery - Bake XpressNew concept: from bread to baked goodsEvolving from our original vending machine concept Le Bread Xpress, we developed "Bakery in a box," a versatile micro-baking machine that can store and deliver a wide range of high-quality, delicious fresh products, 24/7 - anytime and on-demand. Enter the new concept we call Bake Xpress.Superior products from legendary La BoulangerieTo ensure customer satisfaction, we partnered with San Francisco's high-quality supplier La Boulangerie, known for its authenticity and unrivaled standards. La Boulangerie is currently experiencing a remarkable expansion. Read about it here. Delicious baked goods range from thin-crust pizzas to sweet or savory croissants. Modern technologyThe machine is now available in and released to the US market. ## FAQ
1. **How long does it take to bake the products offered?**
 - Hi Michael, Depending of the products, it will take from 30 seconds to 3 min. For croissant, it is merely reheating so it will take 30s For a pizza it will take between 2 min and 3 min depending on the thickness and the ingredients. The machine scans the label and based on bar code, it adjusts the temperature and baking time between infrared and microwave. Customers can also take back home and have the item delivered right away (Cold option) Let me know if you have any other questions Benoit
2. **Do you plan to offer franchise?**
 - Yes we do. It will be similar to a franchise but called a business opportunity (less paperwork, regulation and more flexibility than Franchise). We plan to start this early 2020. This is also very attractive for foreigners who want to come to the USA and apply for a E2 visa The investment amount in the sweet spot for E2, no specific prior expertise required, good cash flow and good growth potential.
3. **Where could I buy from one of your machines in California?**
 - We have one of the baguette machines in demo in a mall in Stonestown Galleria, south of San Francisco. So you could go there to try the French baguette. The new multi-products Bake Xpress (Pizza/pastry) is not yet in public location. If for investment purpose you want to see it and taste the products, we have one machine in operation in a development kitchen also in south San-Francisco. By appointment only.
4. **Will there be any distributions or dividends for investing?**
 - Hi, yes very good question. We plan to have distribution of dividends. The intent is, when the company is profitable, to allocate 50% of the net profit, and to redistribute to shareholders. This is pretty unique in the tech start-up world. And it will allow shareholders to start generating income without having to wait years for an exit. This can be significant with double digits % of return per year.
5. **Robert Seeber What does a machine cost?**
 - Our micro-bakery is very cost competitive. Unit price is in the $35k range Our machine is unique as it does more than just pizza. The closest competitors would be Pizza only vending machine. Some public price reference from Google : " The Pizza vending machine costs $55,000 and offers an exceptional 1-year average return on investment (ROI). Nov 18, 2016I would think more recent machine would range in the $40k - $45k today

## Q&A
- Q: Your financials show that you have loaned your company $200,000 that it's paying back with interest. How much have you invested or has your contribution only been loans? Why didn't you invest $200k in your company like you are asking us to invest vs a less risky loan that you are already getting a return on? Are you taking a salary?
 - A: As a founder I personally invested more than $300k of my personal money. This is In addition to the company loan of $200k (taken out of 401k which is why it’s only a loan and no interest until company is profitable ) I did not take a salary in 3 years . I started only to take one since March 2019 (and at $50k per year i guess it’s way under ceo pay in Silicon Valley) I am 200% committed to my company personally and financially.
 - A: To Wefunder: this was answered 4 years ago. why is it still listed as unanswered ?
- Q: Hello Benoit, Can we get an update? What is going on with the company? The Companies' evaluation? When you plan on converting our shares it has been a while the last raise was 2019. You told me a while ago you were doing another raise it is 2026.
- Q: Any updates? Last email I sent you said you did a split however that was years ago.
- Q: Are there anymore 2025 updates?
- Q: Hello Benoit! Was going through the financial statements and wanted to understand the reasons behind the sharpe decline in sales in 2018 compared to 2017.
 - A: Hi Hashim, the sales for 2017 and 2019 were only for our test machines (baguettes). In 2018 the business location where our machines were, closed. So we only kept a show case for 2018 in a mall.Since 2019, and the new Bake Xpress, our income increased drastically :2017: $23k 2018: $4k 2019 (11 months) $75kExpectation for 2020 is an order of magnitude higher. Remember we launched our Bake Xpress machine only few months ago :)
- Q: Hi Benoît, Apologies if thé question was already asked or if the info could be found somewhere else but, when are you closing the fundraising round on Wefunder? Thank you! Keep up the good work! Cheers, Fay
 - A: Hi Fay, we are going to close on the 28th of November. but we may extend a little more. feel free to reach out to me if you have more specific questions: benoit@lebreadxpress.com
- Q: Hi, apologies if this is covered elsewhere but to confirm either way - is the company we are investing in own the IP to the machines or is that a separate entity? How much testing has been done to ensure safety of the machines (i.e., no risk of fire etc.)?
 - A: The IP of the machine is co-owned between Le Bread Xpress and the manufacturer. We are developing some additional exciting IP for Le Bread Xpress. We have done extensive tests and have included several safety checks when the machine is in operation (temp sensor, IR monitoring, timers, etc..)
- Q: I'm concerned that the machine will not hold enough product. You're looking at putting it in high traffic areas but it only holds 80 items? That would mean someone would need to be available to refill it often, correct? Talk to me about the logistics of this machine, the square footage it needs, what the operator needs (I'm guessing a large bread truck), warehouse? I see this as an early RedBox only way more moving parts. What keeps the food safe? Is it refrigerated inside? Is it a simple electrical hookup> If so, what happens during outages or bad connections?
 - A: Hi Claudia This is our first version of the machine. I believe 80 products is a reasonable quantity in most location and I agree with you that in some other it may require a refill during the day. However if average sales is $8 , it will be a good problem to have (meaning good revenue : $640 per day . And $19000 sales per month per machine) Food is stored in a fridge in the machine . Yes you need a truck and warehouse for operation
- Q: where are the machines located
 - A: Hi Robert All are still in private locations in Silicon Valley (universities Berkeley and Stanford, corporations Tesla) or in UAE We should have this summer one in Valley Fair (Macy's new food area) , Portland, Houston. For prospective accredited investors, we can do demo at our headquarters in Sunnyvale ...
- Q: Hello, i would like to know if you are planning for franchising your business in MENA Region, if yes how could we contact for that? i’m already invested with you & hope to franchisee your business in our local region. Thanks
 - A: hi Khaled , yes we can consider it . Please email me at benoit@lebreadxpress.com Thanks
- Q: Hello I can’t find my investment info on Wefunder, can you please tell me the new platform you’re using so I can read it please thank you
 - A: Hi Martin, please contact wefunder team if you cannot have access to the investment information. you should get them every couple months.
- Q: Where can I update my credit card information. I have tried looking in my profile and my account and am unable to locate where to be able to do this so I can update my investment with an updated credit card numbers etc. ernieyribe1@gmail.com
 - A: Hi Ernie, please contact Wefunder team as for security reason, i dont have access to your credit card..
- Q: INVESTMENTS Are you still planning a series A in Q4 of 2020? Why did you delay the closing of this investment round? Is it your goal to be acquired or is it your goal to grow and expand? REVENUE PROJECTIONS. What is the planned retail price of the machine? Is $20k the Retail price or is that the price it is sold to the reseller? When the average price of a combo vending machine is around $5k. $20 is a 4-fold increase, will lease options be available?
 - A: We may pushed out Q4 2020 series A depending on the impact Covid19 will have on our customers. We delayed the closing of this investment round as we had a lot of traction and it now allows us to be very comfortable during this business slow down with additional cash in the bank.Unit Retail price is $30k. so far we have sold direct all the machines. in the future we can factor in reseller commission.Combo vending machine are not a threat. They dont offer the same products (baked hot food). they are many suppliers and are very commodity equipment. They may be $5k only, but they also generate 4 times less sales per month. so the ROI is much higher using Bake Xpress based on the data we got from our large operator partner. In less than few months , you recoup the additional cost.Lease option will be made available at some point, as it is another source of profit as well as tax advantages for depreciation.
- Q: Regarding the PRODUCT Does the machine have wi-fi for remote inventory tracking by the operator? What is the warranty offered on the machine? Who will be responsible for repairs, when/if it breaks? The reseller or LBX? How often do you expect the vending machine will need to be cleaned? Are the pizza sizes large enough for two people or are they designed for an individual serving? Will there be a way to get the product i.e. pizza out of the machine without touching something someone else has recently touched? I know it will take credit cards, but can they be contact-less “wave” transaction?
 - A: Yes We used cloud based communication for remote inventory, diagnostic of the machineWe offer 1 year warranty. Depending on customer and business models either the reseller, the operator or LBX will provide maintenance and repair.very minimum cleaning is required as the food is never in direct contact with the machine.Pizzas are 8 inches diameter so more for one person (or two small eaters)Yes we are now offering single-use foil to use for the touch screen selection. this was the only contact you will have on the machine. and credit card reader also offer contact less payment. This makes this type of machine a great solution during the pandemic crisis.
- Q: Hello Benoit! SUPPLY CHAIN How many food suppliers will be needed to fill the machine? (are the pizza, bread croissants provided by the same supplier?) With COVID how confident are you in the strength and continuity of the supply chain for the frozen goods? Have any of your suppliers invested in the company?
 - A: We currently have two main suppliers for all the food items (more than 25 selections) in our menu. At this time we have not seen any impact on the food supply due to Covid19 but it is still premature to predict how the situation will be in 6 months. If Impact, I would think it will be minimal and we have contingent plan in place. We are in early negotiation with a very large food supplier for potential co-branding and investment.
