Building a sustainable local food system for the future
Local food is the fastest growing sector within in the food industry. Customers want to know where their food comes from, how it was made and by whom. We will continue to provide the inspiration and recipes that customers need to appreciate and showcase local ingredients. It's a positive solution that benefits the customers and the local farmers, fishermen and artisans with whom we work.
$2.2 Billion Meal Kit Market: Room for a Local Brand
Meal kits have taken off in the last several years, but national brands are struggling. Chef'd suddenly shut down, and both Blue Apron and HelloFresh haven't yet reached profitability. Blue Apron's shares are down nearly 63% since it went public last year. These models aren't working.
Just Add Cooking is different. We're local and don't intend to go national – by keeping our operations focused in the Northeast, we're building a truly local food economy between our customers, farmers, and distributors.
We Outperform National Meal Kits: How We Compare
How We Do It
Home Delivery Meal Kits
We fill our boxes with recipes and high quality ingredients reducing food waste and enabling delicious and healthy dinners on the table in 20 minutes.
Retail Meal Kits
Subscriptions don’t work for everyone, so we’re expanding to everyday retail spots like grocery stores and gas stations. We’re currently in 13 Roche Brothers grocery stores with plans to expand into more retailers by the end of the year.
When customers order their meal kit online, they can add everything from local eggs to greens on a one-off basis to their carts.
