Our Founder

Jenny Dawn Cellars fills Wichita's need for a community oriented wine experience. We embrace diversity and inclusion in the wine industry and turn moments with wine into long lasting memories.

Jenny Dawn Cellars has grown from the dream of an at-home winemaker into Wichita’s first urban winery.

Founded in 2016 by Award-Winning Winemaker, Jennifer McDonald, Jenny Dawn Cellars began with a working partnership with a wine facilitator in Napa.

Jennifer McDonald, first level sommelier and award-winning winemaker, crafts and bottles award-winning wines at Jenny Dawn Cellars in Wichita with grapes and juice sourced from the finest growers in California and Kansas.

The Winery that Wichita Needed

In 2019, Jenny Dawn Cellars opened a winery and tasting room in the heart of downtown Wichita. We’ve created a white-glove winery experience within the city of Wichita to foster and serve our diverse community of wine drinkers that appreciates wine culture and live jazz music. And we’ve implemented wine education services that can be hosted in-person or virtually.

The winery and tasting room offers live jazz, charcuterie and small bites, venue rentals for special events, private wine tastings, wine locker memberships, and an educational class.

We outgrew our original space.

In Spring 2022, we're cutting the ribbon at the Grand-Reopening of our expanded wine production facility and tasting room. This expansion allows us to increase the amount of wine we make each year, boost revenue, and expand our distribution footprint.

Jenny Dawn Cellars at Wichita's Union Station

As of 2022, Jenny Dawn Cellars has 14 handcrafted wines available to ship to 39 states.

In 2020 (our first year open at Union Station) we produced 1,500 cases of wine. We sold 80% of our inventory, and completely sold out of 4 of our handcrafted wines. In 2022, our goal is to produce 5,000 cases of wine-- and double that in 2023.

We craft wines that are approachable, aromatic, fruit forward, easy to sip and that have a unique depth of flavor.

Have Faith and Never Give Up

Even during a global pandemic, Jenny Dawn Cellars remained strong. We sold wine through curbside pickup, hit max capacity of patio seating, and sold out of several wines.

Wine is a $73B industry in the US. But there are only 50 wineries in Kansas.

Our mission is to become the premier winery in Kansas - capturing a larger piece of our regional market share, while increasing wholesale distribution and strengthening national brand awareness through our monthly curated Wine Club subscription.

Less than 1% of U.S. wineries are Black-owned or have a Black winemaker.

Help us grow and reach our next milestone!

Funds will be used for working capital to purchase materials to expand our wine inventory.
