## Story
At the heart of renewable energy and battery technology is a component called the inverter. Like the heart it is essential for the flow of life through the system. The problem is that inverter failures are occurring at epidemic proportions. Eighty-nine percent of the maintenance requests at solar plants involve inverters. Before Willem Einthoven invented the medical EKG, there was no way to know if your heart was functioning well or about to fail. Before our founder, Bert Wank, invented infiniRel’s EKG for power conversion systems, there was no way to know the health of an electronic system—now there is.Inverter failures take entire sections of renewable energy plants offline:Reducing green energy output causing more fossil fuel to be burned Raising production costs which will trickle down as higher rates for usContributing to the instability in the power grid Make green energy investments less attractiveCost revenue that could be used to expand and build more plantsUtility-scale renewable energy plantsWe are launching our groundbreaking technology at renewable energy plants and microgrids because that's where it can make the biggest immediate impact to decrease global warming. The Supply Chain Crises Makes Your Investment Even More Essential Inverters and the necessary parts to repair them used to take a few weeks to replace, now they can take up to a year. This means the green power wasted waiting for repair is increased several times over resulting in more CO2 being dumped into the atmosphere. Your Investment Will Help Prevent Blackouts and Add Stability to the GridWhen the power goes out it’s serious. People can die from heat or cold, food spoils, water may not be drinkable. Everyone’s misery index goes up and work can’t get done. We all ask, “How long will this last?” The Texas grid outage on May 9, 2021, caused a domino effect of inverters disconnecting from the grid. Within seconds Texas lost nearly 25% of all solar power generation in the state. This added to the cascade of events that left more than 4.5 million people in Texas without power, some for as long as four days.In the detailed root cause analysis by NERC a key finding is that the, “industry is not proactively identifying abnormal performance issues of inverter-based resources.” infiniRel’s EKG scanner can provide exactly the type of analysis and help to prevent blackouts. You Can Help Keep Energy Costs DownInverter failures can cause tens of thousands of dollars of damage to equipment. The loss of income while the inverter is out, magnifies that cost many times over. The expense overruns this causes in operation and maintenance (O&M) add up to billions of dollars in lost revenue each year for the industry. These out-of-control costs will eventually drive up the cost of energy for all of us.Our target is to reduce downtime events by 75% and maintenance costs by 50%, safeguarding production costs and helping to keep rates from rising. Help Development of New Renewable Energy PlantsHigh O&M costs have contributed significantly to a serious underperformance of renewable energy investments. infiniRel’s technology will improve the bottom line for solar and wind asset owners which will:Free up money that can be invested in additional green plants. Make renewable energy plants more attractive to investors.Add to the financial stability of the green-energy market by increasing the economic return and energy output from existing plants. Why Now The failure rate has increased as renewable energy plants age and inverters go out of warranty. Along with the supply chain issues, shipping expenses have soared compounding the expenses to replace inverters. Investors and analysts have begun to notice the underperformance of renewable energy investments. There is even chatter about a “dotcom-type-bubble” in renewable energy. All of these factors now have the owners of renewable energy plants looking for ways to reduce the O&M expenses and increase the revenue. With your help, infiniRel can provide the technology needed to safeguard the growth and profitability of their plants and the industry.infiniRel’s inverter EKG Health Scanner is the first of its kind. No one else has a system that actually measures electronic signals to accurately diagnose problems and provide solutions. Our Predictive Technology Utilizes AI & IoT.Our EKG is a hardware-enabled, algorithmically driven IoT device that predicts inverter failures. By tapping into the signal structure of each component, infiniRel’s system can tell specifically which are in danger of failing and when. We use our customized machine learning algorithms (a type of AI--Artificial Intelligence) to interpret the stress signals and calculate an individual risk score for each inverter. We display those results via a dashboard for the technician to use in scheduling maintenance and ordering parts ahead of need. The revenue generated from phase one in renewable energy plants will allow us to reduce the size of our technology and scale up production for commercial use. infiniRel is accelerated, technically validated, and we have our first customer. We are gathering additional machine learning data and preparing to go to market.infiniRel has won more than $400,000 in prizes, awards, and grants, including the U.S. Department of Energy sponsored American-Made Solar Challenge in 2020. We have a binding pilot test agreement with a globally expanding energy service provider and have three additional clients in the pipeline.A voucher from the Department of Energy enabled us to test our system at Sandia National Labs, the technical authority for solar reliability. Future-forward, we'll continue to apply for funding opportunities like CalTestBed, and grants and accelerators for clean technologies.Microgrid developers have their finger on the pulse of the renewable energy industry and recognize that infiniRel technology will help them deliver their goal of reliable, affordable, secure power. Developers are beginning to build infiniRel multi-year service contracts into their budgets. Once funded: We’re only six months from revenue. Projected revenue in 2026: $160 millioninfiniRel’s business model is grounded in multi-year Service-Level Agreements, a successful model adapted from the telecom industry, which demonstrated that uptime can be achieved to ‘five nines’ or 99.999%. Every solar plant and microgrid is unique and carries different risks, costs and failure rates. Our tiered pricing, based on our risk analysis of the systems’ production and inverter health, allows customers to build our fixed fees into their maintenance budgets. We maximize our impact by first understanding the customer’s situation, then quoting our solution in $/megawatt, while considering the age and size of the plant. When our client experiences a gratifying ROI and rapid payback, they are likely to continue with our annual service for the remainder of the system’s lifecycle. It is clear that our service immediately translates to lower operational costs, increased operational stability, and higher revenues. Better margins mean more investment in clean energy and lower reliance on the need to burn fossil fuels.Europe will be the second target market after the US, due to its growing share in the global solar marketplace and its large base of installed (aged) inverters. Then we’ll expand worldwide to the Asia-Pacific Rim, Middle East, Africa, and South America.Companies that monitor inverter data are good at aggregating numbers, whereas infiniRel extracts and processes signatures in real time. We build our own database through AI, and allow operators to make informed decisions pre-failure. What’s more, our US and European patents ensure our technology is ahead of the competition.infiniRel’s team members are veterans from the solar, semiconductor, automotive and telecom industries, who have demonstrated expertise in reliability. To slow climate change our world is going electric. You can help by investing in infiniRel clean tech innovation.Your investment will help us complete testing on our early warning failure system and bring it to commercialization which, in turn, will increase uptime at solar plants and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. After closing initial sales and proving the success of both our technology and our business model, we’ll raise equity to help scale up the business and scale down the size of our early warning system. Then we will enter the e-mobility markets.

## Q&A
- Q: Congrats on your progress and your launch on Wefunder. Three questions: (1) Can you talk more about your IP protection? (2) Can you expand a but more on how you are different from other competitors in the market? (3) How do you envision maintaining that difference over the next five years?
 - A: Dear MN, thanks for these important questions: 1. We have patents issued in the U.S., Germany, Italy, Spain, France, U.K, key countries where our market is (protecting the 'sale'), or likely competitors could emerge (protecting the 'make'). 2. In view of inverters, monitoring companies do not predict. Asset management companies use data from the same source as any other, non of which offer causality for failure prediction. We make our own "food" (data) at much higher quality. 3. Who got the (right) data first wins, as performance is improving with continuous learning. But you are correct, we have to continue to be vigilant for alternative or competitive methods that may emerge, continuously refining our own.
- Q: Any update available? WF said on 9/14 that they're chasing the company for one - any news? Thanks
- Q: This is great tech solving a niche problem!! what is your exit plan foe investors and what is the timeline on that?
 - A: Thanks, Rob. We start with solar only as the niche to dominate, but as the electrification-of-everything requires power electronics in everything, our end game is "infiniRel inside": our "EKG" as a chip-set, sold as the "printer" and the data sold as the "cartridge". At each investment round (every 12-24 mo), earlier investors could exit. In 5-7 years, and depending on market conditions and which investors come on board, we may chose different paths to plan our exit: acquisition by a top-tier semiconductor firm, energy infrastructure play, insurance company, application-driven SPAC (if they are still around), or IPO (less likely, but still possible).
- Q: What's so important about the product(s) you make and what makes you a relevant player in the space? Are you in production yet? If not, how far away are you from production and how much funding would be required on an estimated basis to reach these levels? You gave an example in May 2021 in texas inverters failed and caused a domino effect, but these scenarios are rare/extreme and not that common, so to my point earlier, like why is this necessary and needed? Lastly, being at such a relatively small valuation, what companies/competitors are you going against in this space and what advantages do they have over you and what advantages do you have over them?
 - A: Thank you, Michael, for the opportunity to expand. What's so important about the product(s) you make and what makes you a relevant player in the space? Electrification is a megatrend that will determine how we are interacting with technology – power electronics is at its core, but sensitive to harsh environments that include outdoors and automotive applications. While condition-based maintenance has been successfully practiced for decades to optimize the life of mechanical devices, infiniRel is the first to have cracked the code to apply such a system to electronics, which fails much faster and seemingly without warning. Are you in production yet? If not, how far away are you from production and how much funding would be required on an estimated basis to reach these levels? This raise is supporting the build of our low-volume EKG system for initial deployment. As disclosed in this campaign, we expect this is a six-month cycle from the close of funding, contingent on further conditions in the global supply chain. You gave an example in May 2021 in Texas inverters failed and caused a domino effect, but these scenarios are rare/extreme and not that common, so to my point earlier, like why is this necessary and needed? This is just one recent example in the public media out of many incidents that are have pushed the solar industry into under-performance, as reported by numerous kWh Analytics reports (https://www.kwhanalytics.com/solar-risk-assessment). Without a better way to manage ever cheaper inverters, the explosive growth of the solar industry is going to survive on tax subsidies such the latest tax credits out of the $369B bill. Increasing collateral damage through more frequent black-out outs will drive up utility bills, manufacturing and logistics costs – also impacting inflation. Lastly, being at such a relatively small valuation, what companies/competitors are you going against in this space and what advantages do they have over you and what advantages do you have over them? Monitoring companies monitor and report utility data that is geared for the 100-yr old grid infrastructure. The most recent is Also Energy being acquired by STEM. Asset Management companies such as Omnidian, focus on the residential/commercial sector and use APIs to data that is available to anyone. infiniRel measures with our own sensors and proprietary algorithms, and predicts electronic failures before they occur. Valuation is determined by the market, but recent deal analysis (ie pitchbook, crunchbase) supports a valuation cap range of $7-9M for SEED stage companies.
- Q: If the $200,000 funding mark is not met within the next 7+ days, will you be extending the round?
 - A: Hi Michael, no, we are focussing on larger checks from value add angel investors and strategics that customarily don’t participate in crowdfunding. We need to watch where we spend our time. A client contract offers a larger amount plus added value as it could be recurring revenue and attracts larger capital.
- Q: We want to know what you see your valuation will look like in 3 years also the income and balance statements Not to say much, I think we are very much interested in this project but then we are not opting for the crowdfunding route. We were wondering if you have provisions to accept alternative financing which should save time of WAITING SO LONG for your target to be met. With that we can cover over 50% of your target raise. Kindly reach out to me at thomas@700capital.se so we discuss further.
 - A: Dear Thomas, thank you for you interest and proposal for alternative financing, which is our main funding strategy. We have closed traditional convertible financing under 506(c) under Regulation D from accredited investors. We are in the process of revising our financial projections and cashflow needs as there have been numerous developments that materially influence our projections. These include continuously upwards revised projections for solar and energy storage projects, based on the latest approval for the IRA, which will incentivize our clients with another up to 30% Production Tax Credit for every percent of uptime-related revenue that we will help extract with our predictive diagnostics services. As far as valuation is concerned, the market, and more specifically future investors at a projected Series-B round the 3-yr mark, will determine this, more than traditional sales multiples used in PE. As a meaningful comp, I suggest to reference Omnidian, who raised a $15M Series-A on Jun 25, 2019 from institutional investors, which have been credited with deals between 22-29%, historically. Omnidian's more recent Series-B of $33M on Sep 21, 2021 gives an indication of value for their asset management services for residential and commercial solar, a market that is about 1/5th of our utility-scale play. - Q: Hi Bert, very interesting concept. A few questions from a solar guy: 1) can you share a few examples that your scanner can detect or predict, whereas the inverter's inherent fault/warning code cannot? (2) Is your scanner compatible with inverters from all manufacturers, central and string? (3) do you send your technician to solar power plants for such diagnostics and offer it as a service or do you just ship the scanner with training materials and let the O&M personnel operate it themselves? (4) from your earlier answers, sounds like for it to work, it requires bringing the inverter down, am I right about it? Many thanks!
 - A: Thank you, Ying Teng. Actually, the concept of predictive diagnostics has developed out of "Condition-Based Maintenance" practiced for decades in rotating machinery, ie for bearings. Electronics is just orders of magnitudes more sensitive and fails so much faster, if not recognized early on, which is the challenge that we have overcome. (1) Warning codes are issued most often after a component failed, sadly often masked by other failures and often not accurate. The initial key sub systems we have captured the "smoking gun" include DC link capacitors, IGBT (power stage) failure, output filter degradation, and software control loop instability. (2) We are interpreting the "physics of failure", regardless of make, model and size and can even discern between different power architectures. We have captured string inverter failures at Sandia National Labs and applied the signatures to central inverters we have gather field test data from. (3) We train our client techs to use our EKG scanner (and plan to partner with iZEN.ai for such training online after the initial on-site training). The clients' tech gets immediate results, then uploads our measurements to the cloud. (4) Yes, safety first! Our approximately 10-min test integrates with the workflow of the techs. Meaning, the inverter is already shut-down for regular maintenance, then restarted for our LIVE test under real operating conditions.
- Q: Cognates for the progress on renewable energy space. I am interested and have few questions. 1. Do you have any hardware to install-sorry I may missed something here. 2. Do your system monitor it remotely or you have to go to the site and test it out? What is this instant failure means. 3. The company is founded almost 10 years back; What it was doing before this inverter testing? 4. I don’t see any VC on board; did you not pitch it yet if not why not? you are right next to silicon valley. 5. Revenue model. How much do you charge? I have solar my home? can I use it if I want and how it will be charge?
 - A: Hi Badal, thank you for your interest and questions that may help out many other interested parties: 1. yes, our key differentiator is that we give our clients' tech our instrumentation (our "EKG") to take the necessary measurements that are not available from anywhere else. If the test results showing a distressed inverter, we leave the instrumentation in place until the inverter has been repaired or replaced. 2. The tech gets test results right after an only 10-min test when testing the inverter during its regular, annual service interval - and in its working environment. Risk updates are learned from all inverters connected to our system and remotely updated during annual inspection intervals, and pushed via the cloud. 3. Initially the problem was too small to get attention (we were too early). Between 2011 and 2019 we developed other technologies in biogas, electric motor control, energy conversion and storage, but keeping our patent alive, which is now granted in the U.S. and key European countries. When I met Andreas after an energy provider paid for an inverter analysis for a large solar plant, we sensed that now is time to resume the original project. 4. Actually Crispian VC is a VC that invested in us during the financial crisis. Most VCs need to see revenue before they invest in "prized rounds", which need to have revenue as a basis for fair valuation. 5. We are charging a negotiated $ fee per MW per year. A Megawatt (MW) would power ~200 homes, which is outside of the residential/consumer market. However, we are discussing applications in so called "community microgrids", which are designed to give home owners like you the peace of predictable electricity rates and always on power - and disrupt the utility space.
