What makes our proposal unique is that our system is a lifestyle system, not just a growing device. This means that we have taken the hassle out for people to need and think about growing or harvesting at home. IG Works growing device requires customers to mix, measure and monitor plant food and pH levels for example (you can see on their website (pH control kit). When you ask people to be so hands-on to manage pH levels for example, that can be a real headache and requires people to constantly look after the water and make sure it’s right. That takes effort and can go wrong. It also takes a lot of time, the thing that people generally just don't have. Our USP is that we have developed proprietary software that does the thinking for the customer. So we work with pre-dosed plant food. Our software indicates the number and frequency a customer needs to add such plant food to the water and that’s all. There is no need for the customer to measure anything and remember to check every other day if it's still ok. Our system notifies the user in case it needs anything. Additionally it give them information about how much CO2 and plastic they saved by growing at home vs buying from the store. So you see we have a holistic system that gives customers a healthy and affordable way of growing fresh at home with minimal inputs from them. While using technology to optimise their growing results, HydroArtPod also helps them to support the planet by reducing CO2 and packaging while showing them at the same time that they have eaten enough vitamins thanks to our device so they can ditch the vitamin supplements. One of the things customers seem to feed back on the IGWork system is that it takes up lot of room and that the growlights are cumbersome, they need to be moved around. The HydroArtPod's growlights are fully integrated into the device, positioned to deliver optimal multispectrum light that makes plans grow super-fast. The lights are on extandable arms so you can adjust the light intensity as your plants grow. The lights also serve as supports to enable you to grow larger plants - again, extandable as your plants grow larger. While the IGWork system's supports are not extendable, it's good to see they at least offer them, as I believe there are only 3 products in the market in total that offer this important feature. And of course HydroArtPod is wall-mounted so takes no floor-space at all. If you have room to hang a picture on your wall, you can grow a garden! Or you can stand it against the wall on its feet if you prefer, where it still has a very low footprint into your valuable floorspace. Also to note is that the IGWorks product requires pre-germination in a box before transplanting into the system. Our system's focus is on making things easy and simple. Our target customer has no time to spare nor do they want to work hard to be able to harvest at home. Our system works like the nespresso capsule system. Customer drops seedpods in and that’s it. The seeds germinate within our device and then grow to mature plants. There is no moving plants, no pre-germination etc. thus saving space, time and effort. You asked about some specifics: - water usage: As a hydroponic system, HydroArtPod is extremely water-efficient. The tank only needs to be topped up every 10-14 days depending on the size of your plants (remember, no need to check as the app will tell you when) - electricity: HydroArtPod is very energy-efficient. It uses 125W at peak, so about the same as 2 x 60W light bulbs. Monthy consumption is 88kW - growing potential: HydroArtPod provides just under 1sqm of growing space, with 30 spouts.
