The characters are mostly charismatic and likeable (like the actors playing them). It has elements of slapstick, but the film also hopes to make a point about a number of things, e.g., how we all have a song within us (that other recognize, or don’t). The actors and creative team are accomplished (the director is a novelist, the executive producers have a great track record, and the lead actress, Kalki Koechlin is a bona fide star and crowd favorite in India, where we think they’ll be very interested to see her speaking her parents’ native French, which she was raised with but has never performed in, not in a lead role at least). We think the international aspects of the film might help cast wide the net, and bring us a robust international audience.
