Sylvester Turner Mayor of Houston, TX
“Grit Grocery provides a tremendous opportunity for Houstonians to access healthy food right in their neighborhoods. My Complete Communities initiative is about improving neighborhoods so that all of Houston’s residents can have access to quality services and amenities, and that includes healthy food. The neighborhood where I grew up, Acres Homes, as well as other areas of Houston, could really benefit from this type of access to local, seasonal food. I’m excited about this initiative, and I’m proud of Grit Grocery for focusing on this issue right here at home in Houston."
Anne Olson President, Buffalo Bayou Partnership
“Grit is a great fit for the parks and trails along Buffalo Bayou.  A walkable grocery store is a wonderful amenity for our green space and helps to promote our goal of creating a healthy lifestyle for all Houstonians. We look forward to bringing Grit to a park near you.”
