Theres probably not a state in the nation without beef cattle grazing somewhere, yes even Hawaii. Maybe you even drive by cattle in your daily driving. Would it surprise you if we told you that the cows you drive by in California might go as far as Colorado to be processed? Or that the cattle grazing the hills of Tennessee might be destined for Kansas City? The centralized and globalized system of procuring beef and other meats for American families is a cumbersome network of supply chains and transportations systems reaching as far away as Australia. Largely for the benefit of the conglomerates and not a system designed to serve the end customer, the farmer or the rancher who produced the product. This also comes at a great cost to the environment when you consider the impact of transporting livestock through commercial transportation across the country only to then transport the processed beef back across the country to grocery stores. Thousands of cattle are even brought to the United States on ships from across oceans! And yet here we are, driving by cows that will travel possibly over a thousand miles before ending up on your plate... There must be a better way.The SolutionWe founded Grazr because we knew there had to be a better way to connect the local food chain. After extensively researching the factors in play between farmers, consumers, and processors, Grazr was built to serve all three parties seamlessly. We exist to establish meat acquisitions as a simple and local online experience. With Grazr, a farmer sells his or her livestock in shares, which are handled by a local processor and picked up or delivered straight to the customer. Simple, sustainable, direct from farm to you.The current Environmental impactCurrent status of how meat is being transported. The United States imported 4.35 billion pounds of beef in 2020, up 11.5% from 2019. The United States had the largest amount of imported beef in 2020 from Canada, followed by Mexico and Australia. From January-August 2020 imports of live cattle totaled 1.4 million head, that's 3.8% larger than the same period a year ago.According to the USDA's Economic Research Service, the US beef retail market was valued at $111.2 billion dollars in 2019 and trending upward. While beef will be the backbone of the Grazr model, our platform also supports pork, lamb and goat. Beef is a stand alone market within itself, with the value of pork, lamb and goat not to be overlooked either. For example, the US processed over 100 million hogs with a domestic consumption rate of over 95%.What We do!Grazr solves this problem by creating a hyperlocal supply chain FarmerCustomerProcessorHow We make MoneyOur StoryGrazr was founded by Tom Cunningham and Anthony Laney, two friends who are deeply passionate about building stronger and better communities through decentralized systems that empower the stakeholders. There's little that brings together and binds a community like the food we eat and share. Farmers and ranchers are the backbone of our food systems but have long been undervalued and disconnected as centralized supply chains have removed the farmer from their local community as a producer of nourishment and local culture. Tom and Anthony set out to remedy this divide by building a platform that seamlessly ties together the farmer, consumer and processor to provide an incredible value with an incomparable selection. More than this, Grazr creates an unprecedented accountability between farm and family where we can now know exactly what farm, exactly what animal and exactly how that animal was cared for and raised before choosing it. With Grazr, you now have a say in where your beef comes from, how it is processed and you no longer have to accept it from an unknown origin. You will have full control over the selection and quality of beef purchased. Gone is the massive environmental impact of transporting livestock from across the globe. There is now a better and more accessible option right in your backyard. We are Grazr. How we plan to grow Grazr after WefunderThe main goal of this round is to launch the platform and start generating revenue. To start, we will onboard custom meat processors and farmers, which will initially be a face to face sale. On site at the processing facilities, we will conduct product demos featuring options tailored to their operations. As we continue to grow, farmers will become engrained in the process and will have the ability to join the Grazr platform directly through creating a profile. Our goal is to have onboarded 100 processors and 1000 farmers by Q1 2022. Grazr profits a 7.5% transaction fee for each livestock sale and a flat fee of $7 per head per buyer of livestock processed. We will also have an annual subscription fee of $300/farm, with that fee waived for the first six months. While generating revenue is priority number one we also have identified a number of feature enhancements for the platform that will greatly improve the user experience for all three stakeholders (farmers, consumers and processors). There are a number of integral ways we will be capturing and incorporating analytics that will allow us to revolutionize the way America buys meat. This is a high priority from a developmental standpoint. There are also some development features that are currently confidential but have immeasurable potential for boosting Grazr's sales and licensing to third parties.
Columbia, So there are both regulatory means to ensure safety involved and the mechanisms of the Grazr model itself that add to the food safety integrity of the Grazr platform. First lets discuss the regulatory requirements. Grazr works with both USDA processors and custom processors both of which are required to comply with each states food safety requirements for processors and of course USDA processors have to have a USDA inspector present for the process and comply with all USDA requirements for processing animals. Now those inspectors play an important role but lets not forget that even the large USDA plants that process most of the meat in the US have had millions and millions of pounds of product recalled for contamination. In fact back in 2018 over 12 million pounds of beef were recalled in a single recall. 12 MILLION POUNDS! Not only is that a massive exposure and risk to the populace but its an incredible waste of the animals both from a stewardship perspective as well as a financial waste. Part of the reason that recall was so widespread is that many many different animals can be included in a single pound of ground beef from a major processor. The Grazr model allows the consumer to be confident they are purchasing a specific animal and will receive only that animal back in their meat product. One pound of ground beef from one cow not dozens. Bottom line is that a small custom processor could not possibly pose the threat to the food supply and population that the current supply chain does. That brings us to the farmer and the care and stewardship of the animal on the farm which is equally as important as well. Each farmer has their own Grazr profile to feature their farm and their methods whether it be grass-fed and finished or grain finished, maybe its pastured pork or Halal lamb. It is an opportunity for the customer to get to know who is raising their food and where it is coming from more intimately. I think you will find many farmers will be willing to have folks come out and visit the farm to see it all for themselves too. Last but not least there will also be a ratings system for the farmers and processors of 1-5 stars with room for a review. If egregious ratings appear the Grazr quality control team will be automatically flagged and we will case by case analyze the situation and will have the ability to address it as needed up to and including removing farmers or processors from the platform if they are not serving the customer and the animal with the integrity and respect that each deserve. I hope this was helpful and if I missed anything don't hesitate to reach out. I am happy to answer any follow up questions as well.
At least in the Metro DC area there's a large demand for food/grocery delivery service (especially due to the "new normal") as well as a huge population of foodies, while there is limited access to meat processors. The primary benefit to processors is bringing them the benefits of technology in an industry that has been largely ignored thus far. Bringing their calendars off paper into a digital and customizable environment as well as allowing their customers to interact with their calendar scheduling is unprecedented in the custom meat processing industry. A rancher can log in and select dates for their livestock from their preferred processors calendar if the processor allows for that. So by increasing a processors efficiency we can help to increase their productivity. Our greater vision to bring the orders all the way to end consumer's doors also has the potential to bring the meat processor out of the shadows culturally and make them the relevant neighborhood butcher shop of days gone by. Meat will no longer have to come from a far away unknown place and person but from the local tradesman and producer. I believe that Grazr is the solution for the American family's dinner table what Uber did for ride sharing or what Airbnb did for short term rentals. We don't own the animal or the meat or take possession of either at any point in the process. Examples of some other advantages to creating an "umbrella" market for independent entities (like Airbnb for meat) are that we will have the ability to acquire, analyze and put to use the analytics from the marketplace. We can utilize these analytics to advise farmers on the optimum price currently in their market for a steer or even to project the times of year to expect surges in demand. This can assist producers in projecting for and meeting that demand. As you can imagine there is no end to how we could employ that data to gain efficiencies and advantages for our stakeholders and our model as a whole.
Good evening, how do you plan to market Grazr other than your website? As far as marketing strategy is concerned our model revolves around the custom near processors that we onboard. At least initially we will be going directly to those processors when possible and demoing the software products embedded in the Grazr platform that are designed to serve them specifically. Once a processor is onboarded that will create a "market" where we can then reach out to the producers in the surrounding geographic area to onboard them as farmers/ranchers. Those relationships can be established virtually and our market research indicates that farmers and ranchers are very excited for what we have to offer them so we expect a relatively smooth market development on the farmer/rancher side. When it comes to marketing to the end consumer we are going to start with a rather unique strategy. When a farmer lists a steer for sale they will be prompted to share their new listing to any social media accounts they have. Their Grazr "farm page" is integrated with Facebook and Instagram for sharing a new listing via their personal or farm social media accounts. Similarly when a customer purchases a quarter share they will also be prompted to share their recent purchase from "xyz farms" onto their own social media accounts. Not only will this serve that specific farm but it will generate dozens of genuine views for Grazr that we didn't even have to pay for ads on. We have alternative plans if we need to shift or integrate other methods but the minimal cost and simplicity of this strategy is too good to not have as our starting point. To answer your stock related question; yes this round is a priced round where investors are purchasing shares of the company. I am required to refer you to the "terms" section as I am not allowed to discuss the specifics of the terms myself however they are available to all the prospective investors in the terms section. My co-founder and I do in fact intend to be a dividend producing company. I won't go into it in great detail but I had the opportunity to know a few great American business men and one in particular Bob Gilbert of ALG Feeds who had a thriving agricultural feed business was a strong advocate of dividends for shareholders. Its a classic model that retains the integrity of the company/shareholder relationship. We have positioned ourselves via Regulation Crowdfunding to be owned in part by the farmers and ranchers, processors and discerning customers who support Grazr so we believe it would be prudent and beneficial to those investors for them to see the profits at least in part distributed amongst the shareholders. Now I cannot claim a particular timeline for paying dividends or promise a particular amount of dividend of course but I hope I have articulated our leaderships philosophy and goals clearly.
Hello. So our revenue is directly correlated to the number of processors we are working with and of course how much business each of those processors is facilitating. That being said we have both the establishment of markets (onboarding processors) and the development of those markets (sales volume for each market) to pursue. Our goal is to bring 600 processors on doing 30 million dollars in revenue by year 5. Delivery is one of the feature rollouts we are most excited about in the future but we have specifically refrained from announcing our intentions publicly because we are focused on launching the platform and refining our structural features for processors as a first phase of feature development. Delivery would be shortly after that though. That leads me to your concern of most people not having a processor nearby. While proximity to a processor may be a hurdle for some it isn't necessarily the case for as many as you may think, then of course once a delivery feature is rolled out that would broaden Grazr's reach even further. Last but not least one of my favorite pitch points to the Grazr model is the savings to the customer. Now of course geographical markets will influence the price but so will the wide variety of product that the Grazr market allows for. Where I live personally, a Jersey beef steer could be purchased for a take home cost of $4.50/lb steaks and grind where a Wagyu influenced beef cattle might go for $7-9+/lb take home cost. That price includes steaks and ground meat raised in a manner satisfactory to you the customer by a local producer for better than grocery store prices. In theory there will be a range of product and price options in any given market and each market will set its own prices according to the supply and demand and overall price elasticity of that given market. Hopefully thats helpful and we thank you for your interest and great questions Leonardo.
Hello.
