This afternoon, I will be pitching HCO tin a Shark Tank-style event at the Texas Association of Health Plans conference in Austin. Only five companies earned a spot, and I'm honored that HCO is one of them. The competition focuses on pitching innovation to serve members of Texas Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), which cover children and families with limited income. Asthma is the most common chronic disease among U.S. children after dental caries. In Texas alone, uncontrolled asthma led to more than 109,000 emergency room visits and 8,500 hospitalizations in 2023, with over $2.2 billion in charges to payers. Many of those emergencies start days earlier, when a child’s breathing quietly drifts from normal. That’s the moment HCO Respiratory is built for. Our wearable, ADAMM, listens to the lungs, and our AI catches the drift so our care team can step in before an attack. Three University of Rochester studies found our data predicts the need for emergency or hospital care up to three months in advance. And it’s working: two out of three members who had attacks every month before joining go six months without one, and 100% report improved symptoms. My pitch will showcase these incredible outcomes so that more Texas health plans bring HCO Respiratory to their members. Wish me luck today! The thing that all of our supporters should feel proud of: the outcomes we're able to cite for kids is a direct result of the kids investors sponsored in our last community round. Last time, every $10,000 invested (in increments of $5,000 or more) received a perk of giving one child with asthma in an underserved community our services for one year. And together, our community sponsored 83 children! Your investments is doing well and doing good, furthering our mission and allowing us to demonstrate what we can do in venues like this. We've kept the perks the same this time so new and old investors can increase their impact.Invest or increase your investment in technology-enabled, outcomes-driven care → Sharon SamjitsinghCEO and Co-Founder, Health Care Originals
