Goole A.F.C. was founded in 1997 from the ashes of Goole Town F.C., a century-old club that had carried the town’s football identity for generations. The badge is newer, but the spirit isn’t. Goole inherited a community that had been turning up for football since the early 1900s, from shipyard workers on rough pitches to supporters who treated Saturdays as a civic ritual. It’s also a reminder of how much clubs at this level depend on the people in the stands. When Vice Chairman Michael Becker shared his vision for bringing fans into the everyday life of a non-league football club, it struck me as one of the clearest cases for Plus.Fan I’ve heard.Goole will launch the Vikings Vanguard membership program on Plus.Fan on October 26, offering fans behind-the-scene access, live match streaming, real world perks and even voting rights, and I couldn’t be prouder to welcome them.Up the Vikings!
