Since we announced the J-600 AG and J-900 AG drones, our pre-order form has been inundated with requests from farmers and agricultural operators. Hundreds of aircraft have been requested, with numerous respondents requesting entire fleets. In our conversations with respondents, we’ve learned that many of our potential customers already spray fields with drones, and a large share of them work thousands of acres. Crop spraying is the most requested use, followed by fertilizer application and seeding.Farmers are asking for these aircraft at a moment when their current options are narrowing. Chinese manufacturers have supplied about 90% of the US spray-drone market, according to the American Spray Drone Coalition. The coalition's survey shows US spray-drone sales falling almost 60% in 2025 after import restrictions on foreign shipments, while treated acreage rose nearly 60% to 16.4 million acres. In December 2025, the FCC stopped authorizing new foreign-made drone models.Jetoptera’s J-600 AG and J-900 AG are designed to meet that gap, and each is built to carry 2-3x more per load than the most popular model from the leading Chinese manufacturer. At 3 gallons per acre, the incumbent drone covers roughly 9 acres per load in around 10 minutes at best, compared to 16 acres in less than 7 minutes for the J-600 AG and 28 acres in 15 minutes for the J-900 AG. We don't need to run generators to recharge 3 sets of batteries at all times, batteries that only last 250 cycles before having to replace them. In addition, both J-Series aircraft run on our adaptive Fluidic Propulsive System®, with no rotor blades or propellers, which means safer, faster, operations quieter skies for those living near farms.Best way to characterize what we will offer: one Diesel powerplant, 400 lb hopper, 100 mph, 4,000 acres to a shop visit, against a trailer full of generators and battery packs that are tired before 2,000 acres! The spraying, spreading, and seeding segment of the agricultural drone market is estimated to be worth up to $3B today, with the potential to scale to $10B by 2030.We are targeting first deliveries of our AG aircraft in 2027, subject to our development milestones and regulatory approval, including the FAA's pending Part 108 rule which will enable beyond visual line of sight drone flight. Part 107 (current) will be used before Part 108 takes full effect. If you are involved in agricultural operations, or know someone who is, join the waitlist at preorders.jetoptera.com.
