When I first met Barry O’Neill, Director of Women’s Football at Montrose Football Club, one of the first things he told me was that the club committed to equal visibility, equal resources, and equal ambition when they launched their women’s program in 2016. He wasn’t talking about a marketing playbook. This was a structural decision to walk the talk, and it catalyzed the entire club.The women’s team climbed rapidly into the Scottish Womens Premier League, earning back‑to‑back league titles along the way.
