Meet Mihail, who leads instrumentation at Airthium. He develops the custom sensors, electronic boards and software that help us understand what’s happening inside our prototypes. His background combines mechanical engineering with a PhD and postdoctoral research on lubrication and seals in harsh environments. We caught up with him for a quick look at his latest creation:Mihail has built a mobile data acquisition system: a custom cabinet that brings sensor connections, electronics and live readings together for our test campaigns. It collects measurements such as pressure, temperature and fluid flow, giving the team a convenient way to follow what’s happening during a test. Its modular design and wheeled base make it easy to move and adapt to different setups. His work sits at the intersection of our mechanical engineering and science teams. Our physicists work with him to interpret the measurements and compare the results with their models. Understanding where the prototype behaves as expected, and where it surprises us, helps the team decide what to improve and test next.Support our mission to decarbonize heat, invest in Airthium!
