We’re pleased to share further initial performance benchmark results for LonScript, demonstrating its potential as a high-performance programming language. Using the same test environment as our prior benchmark report, an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60 GHz with 12 logical cores, 63.8 GB RAM, and Windows 10 (10.0.19045-SP0), LonScript was evaluated across 15 geometric-mean measurements. The recent results can be seen via this archive.Several tests ran so quickly that even after accounting for Windows timer resolution and increasing repetitions, additional benchmarking refinements were needed to capture the full extent of LonScript’s superior performance. In these early tests, LonScript surpassed established languages and platforms including Go, Kotlin, Dart, Java, Swift, Mojo, and Wolfram (amongst others).To support transparency, the benchmarks were conducted twice. In the first run, LonScript was nearly tied with Wolfram, with a slight advantage at the nanosecond level. After clearing the cache and logs, the second run showed a substantially larger geometric-mean lead for LonScript. LonScript maintained an overall speed advantage in both runs.The benchmark results shown above are from the second run and are intended to illustrate LonScript’s early technical progress and performance potential. LonScript still has significant work ahead in development, marketing, branding, and overall execution, but its technical progress so far has been highly encouraging.
