Project will assess the REVflux™ PowerCell as a compact, fuel-flexible power solution for contingency operations(FENTON, Michigan) – Alpha-Otto Technologies announces it has been selected by AFWERX for an SBIR Phase I contract in the amount of $74,989 focused on the REVflux™ PowerCell for powering contingency operations to address the most pressing challenges in the Department of the Air Force (DAF). The Air Force Research Laboratory and AFWERX have partnered to streamline the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) process by accelerating the small business experience through faster proposal to award timelines, changing the pool of potential applicants by expanding opportunities to small business and eliminating bureaucratic overhead by continually implementing process improvement changes in contract execution. The DAF began offering the Open Topic SBIR/STTR program in 2018 which expanded the range of innovations the DAF funded and now on June 30th, Alpha-Otto Technologies will start its journey to create and provide innovative capabilities that will strengthen the national defense of the United States of America.“Modern contingency operations demand power systems that are lightweight, rapidly deployable, and capable of operating wherever the mission takes them,” said David Dusseau, co-founder and CEO of Alpha-Otto Technologies. “This program allows us to work directly with Air Force stakeholders to better understand operational requirements and evaluate how the REVflux Power Cube, a portable implementation of our REVflux PowerCell technology, can reduce logistical burden while delivering reliable electric power in austere environments. Our vision is to provide standardized, portable power generation products that increase operational flexibility while reducing dependence on a single fuel source.”The views expressed are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of the Department of the Air Force, the Department of War, or the U.S. government.About Alpha-Otto TechnologiesAlpha-Otto Technologies is developing the next generation of distributed power generation through its REVforce™ combustion architecture and REVflux™ family of modular power generation products.
