Hello, team!If you're receiving this update, you're now a part of the I Was Happy Yesterday (IWHY) team, and we couldn't be more excited to have you with us on this journey as we bring I Was Happy Yesterday to life as an original sci-fi feature film. Before I dive into our latest updates, I want to sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for investing in this movie. I truly believe it's incredibly important to tell fresh, original stories, so your support means the world to my team and me.I'm writing this update after attending the Raindance Film Festival with our previous feature, The Devil Whispered My Name, where we were nominated for Best Horror Film. Raindance is one of the UK's most prestigious film festivals, dedicated to championing new voices in cinema. I wanted to share a little about the festival and our release journey because I believe it reflects our team's philosophy and approach to filmmaking. The Devil Whispered My Name has already screened at numerous festivals, including Terror Córdoba (Winner: Best National Film), BARS (Winner: Best International Actress), Screamfest one of the premier horror festivals in the United States, where films such as Paranormal Activity premiered and Raindance, where it was nominated for Best Horror Film. We're also in the middle of our theatrical rollout in Argentina, where the film was shot, and we've already screened in five cities. On top of that, we've signed with Reel Suspects, a Paris-based international sales company that is currently representing the film across Europe and North America.I think it's important for you to know that when you invest in I Was Happy Yesterday, you're investing in a team with a proven track record, not only of making feature films, but of getting those films into prestigious festivals and securing international distribution. We're a hands-on team that has spent years in the trenches making films together, and with I Was Happy Yesterday, we're committed to raising the bar.Our goal is not only to make the best film we possibly can, but also to give it the strongest release strategy possible—maximizing both its audience and the potential return for our investors. So what does that look like in practice?First, we aim to generate as much exposure for the film as possible by premiering at the world's leading genre film festivals. Every review, interview, and festival screening helps build momentum and create buzz around the film. From there, we'll work to sell the film territory by territory, ensuring we maximize upfront revenue through strategic distribution deals. For North America, our team strongly believes this film deserves a theatrical release. I Was Happy Yesterday was made for the big screen, and we believe there's a passionate sci-fi audience ready to embrace it with the right marketing campaign. A theatrical run will also help generate organic word-of-mouth within the sci-fi community, building excitement before the film's eventual VOD release. We're not going to sell this film short. We'll work tirelessly through every stage of production, festival strategy, sales, and distribution to give I Was Happy Yesterday the very best chance to succeed.Thank you again for believing in us and for joining the IWHY team. Now, let's go make a movie!
