To Our Hempitecture Investor Community,We have some exciting news. Our $8.4M Department of Energy award under Cooperative Agreement DE-MS0000135, Project Appalachian Green Fiber, has been officially retained. Here's the quick backstory: In early 2025, the DOE placed our award on hold as part of a sweeping Portfolio Review Process (PRP) to reassess projects across their entire grant portfolio. Every recipient had to resubmit comprehensive technical and economic data to justify continued funding. It was a months-long, rigorous process. On April 10, 2026, we received word directly from the DOE's Senior Procurement Executive that our project had passed review and the award was being retained. The official confirmation letter followed on April 14th. The language from DOE was clear: our project was determined to be financially sound, economically viable, and aligned with national and economic security interests. We held our project kickoff meeting on May 27, 2026, and we're now working through the final award modifications ahead of an anticipated project resume date of January 1, 2027.This award is designed to help us build out a full-scale natural fiber insulation manufacturing facility in the Appalachian region, creating American jobs, strengthening domestic agricultural supply chains, and reducing dependence on foreign-made building materials. Surviving a federal review of this scope is meaningful validation that with your support, Hempitecture is building a meaningful business that will continue to shape the built environment with high performance, carbon capturing materials.None of this happens without our early investors. Over 1,800+ individuals have come together to invest in Hempitecture on Wefunder. Thank you for being part of this.More updates to come as we move toward project launch. Stay tuned.— Mattie MeadCEO & Co-Founder, Hempitecture Inc.
