Riemann Computing has recently demonstrated promising test results for its newly introduced file format, .qxdg (where “G” denotes Geometry), launched today. A demonstration of these results is available in the following video: In testing, the format achieved near-lossless quality while reducing file size by nearly 10× compared to the original .stl file. In addition to this proprietary CAD format, Riemann Computing previously released a preview of its FastPrint algorithm, which focuses on accelerating 3D printing workflows. The preview model for FastPrint (which doesn't include proprietary compression) can be viewed via Huggingface. The FastPrint model leverages B-spline techniques alongside Mitchell–Netravali filtering to optimize performance.
