Dear investors,I’m writing to ask for a favor, and to explain an important bet we’re making. We recently launched syndicates, funds, and SPVs. These products help investors build a following, lead deals, and earn carry or management fees.If you know an angel, operator, or VC who might be a strong early customer, I’d be grateful for an introduction directly to me at nick@wefunder.com.My personal goal is to find our first 10 great lead investors.Customers who are a good fitWe’re looking for investors with good deal flow who are excited to build a community of other investors around them. The best customers are investors who:See good deals before others do;Are already trusted by founders;Have judgment that is respected by other investors; andWant to do the work of building an audience that invests alongside them. This is one of the most important betsWefunder has always been the market leader in Community Rounds. That remains core to who we are. But as we move into territory occupied by AngelList, Sydecar, and others, I don’t want us to become just another back-office provider. Over the last decade, we’ve built strong infrastructure, handled thousands of SPVs, and served over a million investors. But infrastructure is table stakes. Our edge is community and relentless customer service. Our DNA has always been helping founders tap into the people who believe in them, then going the extra mile to help them raise the funding they need. Now we want to do the same for the next generation of lead investors. We want to help angels, operators, and emerging managers build a following. We want to make the painful parts of fundraising easier, help them tell their story, help them bring LPs and angels alongside them, and free them to focus on what matters most: meeting great founders, choosing the best ones, and helping them win.How this helps our core businessYou invested in Wefunder while we were focused on helping founders run Community Rounds. We are still very focused on that mission. But one limitation of the marketplace today is that many individual investors do not have the time, access, or expertise to do deep diligence on every company. They want credible leads who can explain why they believe. If this works, it creates a virtuous cycle. Investors get more deals led by people they trust. Founders with strong leads raise more money, faster. Higher-quality founders have more reason to come to Wefunder. And more money goes to deserving startups.Thank you for investing in Wefunder. If someone comes to mind, please send them my way at nick@wefunder.com. I’ll follow up personally.Nick
