Last week’s NJMIHIA “Rooted & Rising” doula town hall was electric. Being in a room at RWJF with so many birth workers who live this work every day was both humbling and energizing. What struck me most was how clearly doulas see the whole picture of a family’s needs—from postpartum food insecurity to childcare gaps to mental health. They’re already the trusted bridge between systems and parents; Dopple simply gives them rails to route more support through that relationship. We felt that in the response: over 20 doulas signed up to partner with Dopple on the spot, and we now have follow‑up meetings scheduled with several large agencies. The event also opened doors to Wellfleet, a Medicaid service provider, creating a direct pathway from benefits to real-world support.Coming out of the event, it’s obvious: if we want to find and serve the families who need Dopple most, partnering deeply with doulas isn’t just a tactic—it’s the strategy. Next week I’ll be speaking at a Black Maternal Health event with over 100 moms and is where I can sign up families directly in Atlantic City to continue building this network and making sure the dollars we unlock reach the parents and babies who need them most.
