We are excited to report that Voyage has recently closed our very first ever 1st-look deal - with Fox Entertainment. This is the latest in a series of other big moments (like our previously-announced deal with Verve), and one that reflects the quality of the company we've built (and its output) AND how it fits into the entertainment industry's changing landscape. What is a 'First Look'?In simple terms, it means that Voyage has a partner-buyer (Fox) who gets first crack at our 1-hr TV projects. And we have very enviable pre-negotiated purchasing terms (for our clients and for Voyage). And if Fox ends up 'passing' on a given project, we can then take it elsewhere. In more interesting terms, Voyage now has a major partner who's working alongside us in the incubator and to whom we can bring projects at any juncture during their development process - effectively developing the product WITH the buyer (vs hope they'd be interested AFTER the work is done, which is what most production entities do). And it also means we can 'order up' projects and IP from our storyteller community that might fit the Fox mandates.And this is what Voyage was always designed to do - make development more productive and efficient by working with buyer-partners from the start (and, in effect turn, the content supply chain on its head by using buyer demand to drive development). So congrats, everyone!It's amazing what's possible when you remain focused on a single core idea (providing credible opportunities to our storyteller clients), stay disciplined with financial management (to endure and weather storms), and unyielding in our quest to identify partnerships that turn our incubator into a turbo-charged IP licensing platform. They told us this wouldn't be possible...Let's continue to prove them wrong!
