Like many deep-tech and automotive startups, CityFreighter faced a difficult combination of COVID disruptions, delayed pilots, challenging capital markets, and several financing paths that ultimately did not close. These setbacks slowed progress — but they did not stop it.What matters now: we have clarity, momentum, and a concrete plan forward.A clear development pathOver the past months, we have consolidated everything we learned technically, commercially, and strategically into a clear, phased development roadmap that takes CityFreighter from today to series readiness by early 2028 — without becoming a capital-burning OEM.We are sharing a one-page development timeline that clearly shows:what we have already achieved,the next technical milestones (series demonstrator, homologation, SOP readiness),and the associated funding phases.This roadmap is now the foundation for all fundraising, partner discussions, and government engagement.New fundraising via Prospedia CapitalWe are currently raising our USD 5M Seed / Bridge round via Prospedia Capital, a UK FCA-regulated investment platform specialised in advanced automotive and mobility technologies:👉 Prospedia Capital – CityFreighter raisehttps://lnkd.in/eDWCjcAMThis process gives us structured access to experienced automotive angels, family offices, and strategic investors — and positions us for the next Series A phase.Tangible visibility: RV demonstrator plannedIf everything progresses according to plan, we are preparing to build a full-scale RV demonstrator based on the CityFreighter platform for Caravan Salon Düsseldorf 2026, the world’s leading trade fair for recreational vehicles.This demonstrator would be developed together with industry partners and is intended to:make the platform physically tangible,demonstrate the space, low-floor architecture and modularity advantages,and create real visibility with OEMs, upfitters, fleet operators, and the media.We are sharing an initial mock-up image to illustrate the concept and direction. If realised, this demonstrator would be a major milestone and a strong signal of execution.Lean by design: global, distributed, capital-efficientCityFreighter is not another vertically integrated EV OEM. Our strategy is deliberately lean:satellite engineering hubs in Europe, the UK, the US, and Mexico,close collaboration with partners instead of owning factories,contract manufacturing instead of heavy fixed assets.This approach allows us to scale faster, cheaper, and with far less risk.Strategic discussions underwayIn parallel, we are in active discussions in Saudi Arabia around engineering, validation, and future industrial collaboration. These talks fit well with our distributed engineering-hub model and our Mexico-based SKD and validation strategy.We are also in discussions with a well-known US contract manufacturer with deep ties across the commercial vehicle and fleet ecosystem — including direct relationships with many potential CityFreighter customers.
