This photo was taken on a coffee farm in Kenya.Not at a conference.Not behind a pitch deck.Not in front of a green screen.On African soil. Building our first direct trade relationship.I started BVP Coffee Co. to prove that a Black-owned company could build something real at the intersection of culture, sustainability, and community ownership. That belief gets tested every day.Fundraising is hard.Building in public is uncomfortable.Asking people to believe before everything looks perfect takes humility.But this is what we are building toward. Transparent supply chains. Ethical sourcing. Shared upside from farm to cup.We recently opened a community investment round on Wefunder because we believe ownership should not be reserved for institutions.
