On this date three years ago, I was "liberated" from my job - along with 3,500 of my colleagues at Twitter. Today, I'm proud to share SPILL just had its first ever cashflow positive quarter, we have officially crossed $1M in annualized revenue and we've been named one of the "Essential Social Apps" by Apple. As always, the credit is due to the unwavering efforts of our team. I don't have to overstate how utterly delusional you have to be to think you can transform how people connect, but our team does. Day in, day out, they show up tackling one line of code, one RFP, one customer support message at a time. In isolation it can feel like a slog, but when we look back at a week, a month, a year - what they've accomplished is truly historic and unprecedented given the environment we're operating in. All of this, of course, is in service of the members (not "users") on @SPILL - a movement that continues to not only grow in size but impact. Our fastest growing feature is now our "Groups" feature, which has seen a 10x increase in user adoption in the past three months alone. These groups - covering almost every interest and topic you can imagine - are more than just groups in name only; they are planets unto themselves where people are genuinely building bonds that transcend the platform. Finally, I want to say thank you to everyone who has participated in this community equity round. While capital is important for an early-stage technical venture, the messages of support that have accompanied these investments have been even greater boosts to our team. Social technology is too often boiled down purely to MAU, Growth, Revenue and flattens the reason the technology exists in the first place - to help us find support, joy, and feel a sense of belonging instead of isolating and depressing us. We have a lot more to do, but I'm so proud of what we're collectively building and more assured than ever that SPILL is guided by forces far greater than any of us understand. Thank you, again, for being those forces. Lots more to come!
