Hello All,We’ve been deep in the edit, and just last month we finally picture-locked the film—meaning no more changes will be made to it.At the end of June, we had our color spotting session with Fotokem, our color house, and I’m excited to share some stills with you below. With a film like ours—so rich in cinematography—color is such an important element, and we couldn’t be happier to be working with one of the best in the business. I’ll be traveling back to LA in August to sit down with Fotokem and watch the colored version in 4K… I’m expecting to shed a few tears.The other crucial element that comes after the edit is locked is all things sound: music, ADR, sound effects, and the final mix—both stereo and theatrical. After many years of waiting, my composer Sami (who I met at Sundance all the way back in 2023) is hard at work on the film’s music. We’ve been discussing the major themes of the movie and exploring ways to weave them throughout the film to truly pull all the elements together. We’ve also been in talks with three very exciting musicians about licensing songs for key moments in the film.The next couple of months will be an exciting and busy time for us as we finalize the film and prepare for the 2026 festival circuit.
