To Our Wefunder Investors,First and foremost, thank you. You believed in Avenida when we set out to grow something bold: a media company rooted in cultural pride, equity, and authentic storytelling. Your support gave us the runway to build and to try, at a time when most would not.We poured everything we had into this mission—our time, our savings, and our hearts. And while we’re incredibly proud of what we accomplished, the economic realities of today’s media landscape—especially for independent, Latino-owned companies—have made it impossible to continue. The current anti-DEI climate only deepened those challenges.With heavy hearts, we’ve decided to wind down Avenida and its operations.We explored every path forward, including a promising partnership with AdsMovil that gave us hope for long-term monetization. But scaling that opportunity would have taken time, and unfortunately, we no longer have the resources to keep the company operational while waiting for revenue to grow.Still, what we built together matters—and it always will. Here’s just some of what we accomplished during our time:Coached over 400 film and media projects from concept to completionProduced and distributed dozens of films, many now streaming worldwideOpened Avenida Studios, a creative home for independent artists in Los AngelesTrained and mentored hundreds of interns, many now working in the industryHelped thousands of creators crowdfund their projects, launching careers along the wayLaunched A+, the first bilingual-hearted streaming platform for U.S. LatinosHosted filmmakers and supported their travel to major film festivalsBuilt a movement centered on representation, opportunity, and cultural authenticityYour investment helped fuel this vision.
