In the first week of its equity crowdfunding campaign on CrowdFundMe, the only crowd-investing platform (Equity Crowdfunding, Real Estate Crowdfunding, and Corporate Debt) listed on the Italian Stock Exchange, it has already surpassed its minimum fundraising goal of €90,000. Investors have joined from Australia, the United States, Armenia, Ireland, Germany, France, England, Spain, Austria, and South Africa.Founded in 2020 by a team of young professionals with backgrounds in economics and tourism, who returned to Italy after the COVID-19 pandemic to apply their expertise gained in North America, Asia, and Europe, Ruralis.com is the only operator that fully digitalizes accommodations located in Italy’s most rural and remote areas. It provides complete property and guest management services, excluding check-in/check-out, cleaning, and maintenance, serving both private property owners and public administrations. The platform allows tourists from around the world to discover hidden historical and scenic gems, as well as unique experiences. Currently operating in Irpinia, Ruralis.com aims to expand to Molise, Basilicata, Campania, and Puglia by the end of the year.An innovative and fast-growing startup, Ruralis.com managed over 40 properties in 2022, marking a 300% increase from 2021, and hosted more than 3,800 guests, a 348.95% rise compared to the previous year, from 23 different nationalities. The company’s revenue grew by approximately 240% to €196,000. By 2025, it aims to manage 900 vacation rentals, generating over €2.5 million in revenue with a 20% EBITDA margin.Ruralis.com was created to address a critical issue in Italy’s short-term rental market: the absence of many rural properties from online listings and major booking platforms, along with their lack of organization and promotional capabilities. Unlike urban-focused competitors, Ruralis.com has no direct rivals in Italy in the rural vacation rental segment. The short-term rental property management sector experienced significant growth in Italy’s rural regions in 2022, with operators focusing on these areas seeing a 41% revenue increase, according to Rentals United. The Emma Villas Observatory reported that the demand for luxury villas and farmhouses in Italy increased by 52% last year, with a strong return of international tourists. Airbnb also noted a surge in bookings for vineyard-view properties, ranking Italy as the third most desirable rural destination in Europe."Our goal is to strengthen our position as the uncontested leader in rural, mountain, and infrastructure-limited hospitality. We are applying and adapting the best international tourism models we have studied and experienced to Italy’s unique context," say Nicolas Verderosa and Lucio Nitti, CEO and COO of Ruralis.com. The company is led by a team of around ten young professionals, all of whom returned to Italy to work on this innovative project."The equity crowdfunding campaign will support our national expansion, first in the South, then in Central Italy. The funds raised will be used to enhance Ruralis.com's technology, particularly its booking system and analytical services for property owners. Additionally, we will invest in marketing strategies to attract new properties and expand our team."
