To Our Valued Wefunder Followers and Investors, Over the last several weeks, many of you have expressed an interest in learning more about the science behind our XGAL-3® technology. For those of you who are interested, I'd like to take a moment to offer a high-level examination of the elegance of our solution.With XGAL-3®, we've developed a specialized filter that works with standard hospital equipment to selectively remove excess Galectin-3 from the bloodstream. You can picture this filter as a highly selective net that only catches what we need to remove while letting beneficial compounds pass through untouched.If you know anyone who has undergone dialysis, you'll recognize this process. Like dialysis removes toxins from the blood, our technology removes harmful Galectin-3—but with far more precision.The process looks like this: blood is drawn from the patient using equipment commonly found in ICUs. Just like dialysis, our process then separates blood cells from plasma. The plasma then flows through our Column, where our proprietary antibody technology specifically targets and removes Galectin-3. The filtered plasma reunites with the blood cells and returns to the patient—now free of excess Galectin-3.What makes this approach unique is its simplicity.
