I started this campaign almost exactly one year ago, just a few days after I returned from the Austin Film Festival—a place where, little did I know, I would meet a man who would become one of the leads in my film, along with multiple investors and mentors. The festival began a few days ago and ends the same day this campaign closes, one week from today, on October 31st. It's funny how those full-circle moments seem to happen.When I launched the WeFunder a year ago, making this film felt like a huge mountain to climb. I knew how to climb it, but I didn’t yet have all the necessary equipment. Thanks to your generosity, excitement, and support, we have made it up that mountain. While we still have work to do, in the past month I’ve hired an editor to sync and assemble the footage, started reaching out to PR and marketing companies, and put together a schedule for our final pickup/shoot day.This has truly been a community-made film in every sense of the word. From this wonderful community on WeFunder to the community of creatives in LA who shared their experiences of making their first film, to the community in the Upper Valley who graciously allowed us to use their stores, roads, driveways, and neighbors as our extras, sets, and parking lots—thank you all.If you haven’t invested yet, this is the final week to do so, and we would be very grateful for any support towards our post-production. I’d love for everyone to continue following along with the journey, and I will be sending out periodic updates as we are able to share stills, clips, the trailer, and finally our premiere when the time comes.
