After a frenetic close to the summer transfer period that brought ten new faces to our women’s program, we finally have a chance to exhale and enjoy what is shaping up to be a tremendous season in Saalfelden. Credit to everyone on the staff but especially to Christian Herzog, Chris Sydney, Sierra Cristiano, David Herman and Henry Caver. Match Live StreamsDue to continued reliability issues with fan.at, we will also be streaming all men’s and women’s matches via the Veo Live app. The quality is as good or better than what we have had before and will improve as we get more sophisticated in our use of the equipment. For the best results, download the app via your mobile device and cast it to a larger screen if you prefer. Away matches are always a bit trickier, as we saw two weekends ago when even the ÖFB regional stream failed. We do expect to be streaming the women’s away matches; however, and we are exploring solutions for the men’s away matches. Both Men & Women Off to a Fast StartIt is early in a long season, but I am not going to lie. It feels good to be near the top of the men’s table with our only loss to rival and 1st place Austrian Salzburg. This is a good young team under first year manager and academy head Hannes Schützinger. We are tentatively planning our next Fan Owner call around his availability. Stay tuned. As for the women, my primary goal this fall was to prove that we belonged in our first season in the 2nd division. Sierra Cristiano clearly has other plans, leading her team to a 2-0 start. Even last week’s Cup match, our first loss in almost a year, is a positive sign against a quality 1st division squad. It is very early, but the women have already made a convincing case they can compete at this level. Can’t wait to see how this one develops! Project Ascend Our August Fan Owner call notes can be found here. It was focused on Project Ascend. Along with a high-level summary of the presentation, there are also more detailed answers to the most common questions we heard. One thing that has not been fully addressed is the source of funding for Project Ascend. Long term, we expect the program to be fully funded by local sources – matchday, sponsors, local government grants. We have already made some progress in those areas, including both local and international sponsors (shout out to Wexford Strategies!) appearing on the women’s match kit. Reach out to me if your business is interested. Short term, the funding comes from all of us – the Fan Owners. Early this summer, we committed to $75K, with the need likely coming in closer to $100K. Most of this funding is expected to come from Wefunder. The investment in Ascend puts us well on the path to being one of the most complete and highest profile clubs in Austria, increasing our value and establishing us as a pioneer in creating increased opportunities for women in football. The sky literally is the limit! Wefunder UpdateFinally, after an unexpectedly long wait, our Form C will be filed with the SEC by early next week. That means two things: 1) new Fan Owners will be official once your investment is confirmed and 2) we will be able to start the Perk process. Also, by next Wednesday, the minimum investor will increase from $220 to $495. If you have been on the fence about jumping in or adding to your current investment, now is a great time to join us. Early bird perks are in effect up to the first $75K, with current commitments just shy of $50K. There’s still time, but not much! Every time I sit down to write one of these updates, I imagine that it will be short and sweet. But it never is because there is just too much to share. (I have not even mentioned Club 2!) We’re on an amazing journey together, and I could not be more thrilled to have you with us. Onward!Steve
