Over the last few weeks we have seen an explosion in the buzz and discussions about Artificial Intelligence and more specifically Generative AI combined with Machine Learning (in very simple terms means artificial intelligence that responds to you based on existing data). The release of Open AI's ChatGPT 4 and Microsoft's multi billion dollar investment in it as well as the launch of Alphabet / Google's competing Bard has intensified the discussion and excitement about the huge potential that AI has on everyday work matters as well as productivity and enhancing careers (and extinguishing others). It has become an arms race of sorts with new headlines everywhere and investors and specifically VC firms pouring millions and billions in brand new startups that promise to disrupt or/and enhance any given industry. We do not know exactly where it is headed but these are very exciting times for everyone. There are of course many warnings about abusing AI and harming the human race with calls for legislation and many companies are restricting the use of Chat GPT in the workplace. AI for solving specific tasks is not a new concept as it has been utilized and discussed for decades (and Hollywood movies abound with it). It's just that the new generative transformers based on Large Language Modules have made a breakthrough in the last couple of years and specifically in the last few weeks with the release of ChatGPT4. For Vikktoria AI was always on our radar and in fact our search engine for lawyers has a very advanced algorithm for search that is very much an AI. But it is not Generative which is the key here. The legal industry is a word intensive service industry and hence naturally generative AI works best for helping lawyers in researching and writing their cases as well as managing practices. Of course there are limitations on how much you can use something like Chat GPT for writing your case summary but I have to say it is pretty damn good. In fact ChatGPT made the news for being able to pass a simulated California Bar Exam. The key is that the lawyer uses it as an assistant of sorts and still makes final edits and authority of the document. This is really early for generative AI and this technology will change and disrupt many industries. Hence after careful deliberations we have decided that we must make a major commitment to enhance our technology and adopting Generative AI combined with Machine Learning as front and center of our technology and marketplace. Are we betting the business on it ? Absolutely not. Are we remiss if we do not take a bet... absolutely !How are we going to do this? We are starting by architecting a consumer / lawyer facing generative artificial intelligence data module that will be based on Open AI's API to streamline all consumers search and legal inquiries. I cannot go into too many details for proprietary reasons and I will be showing some sneak previews in time. This is a very exciting development and the new prototypes and simulations have been solid in our early testing runs. For the fundraising on WeFunder as well as our seed campaign we are going to pause our advertising and promotion campaigns until we have the first beta prototype of the module to show. This does not mean we are stopping the fundraising at all, it simply means we will pause promoting it because we believe we will attract a lot more investor interest. We expect to have such working prototype ready by mid summer with a target of end of July 2023. While we are building the new AI, we will continue with our lawyer awareness campaign and uploading new lawyers to targeted metro areas. To be clear, the new effort does not change our business model at all, instead it will significantly enhance it and open up new opportunities. Exciting times... now repeat after me ....Have a great weekend !
