First off, thank you to everyone who invested in BarGlance! Your belief in our company means the world to us. Since this is our first update on Wefunder, we wanted to provide a general overview of the concept and highlight what we're working on right now. The current BarGlance app, Version 2.0, was essentially a beta test. We chose Charleston, SC as the test market simply because that's where we live. Versions 1.0 and 2.0 were similar in concept and design. The major difference being that v1.0 was web-based and v2.0 was build natively. Once we'd proven the concept locally and determined a clear market need nationally, our attention turned to scaling the platform. This brings us to BarGlance 3.0, which we are in the process of building now. The best way to explain the new app is probably with the analogy: Waze for going out. Our North Star has always been to collect and convey nightlife information in real-time. Perfecting that process has taken us through three major iterations of the product. Version 3.0 is a combination of everything we've learned along the way--and it's designed to scale. We broke the app build-out into two phases. The second, and final, phase began this week. We're super excited to dive back into building the platform.A few notes regarding Phase II: We outsourced the build-out to DEPT (www.deptagency.com), who have been nothing short of amazing to work with. The last day of the build is scheduled for August 4th. The app will likely be submitted to the Apple App Store prior to that date. We have a dedicated team consisting of 3 software developers, an app designer, and a project manager.The cost estimate for this phase is $286K. However, we feel confident that we can trim that amount down to around $250K or $260K (Phase I was $196K, which has already been paid for). Stay tuned, more updates to come. Cheers! 🍻
