On June 9, 2022 -- Intentionalist was recognized as a 2022 YWCA Bertha Pitts Campbell Equity Awards honoree. During the awards ceremony, when asked about why Intentionalist centers equity, founder and CEO Laura Clise shared, "Because it is our responsibility to put our collective thumb on the scales of economic justice. If we can make it easier to be intentional when it comes to everyday decisions about where we eat, drink, and shop, together we contribute to a world where diverse Main Street small businesses thrive, neighbors know and support each other, and people feel a sense of belonging."As part of the award, we were able to select a nonprofit organization to which a donation will be made in our honor. We selected Find Ventures, a nonprofit organization partnering with the Washington State Department of Commerce to make entrepreneurship for all a reality by mentoring and providing grant funding to companies led by underserved and historically marginalized communities._____May 27, 2022 -- The Seattle Times recently published an article highlighting the ways that Seattle Sounders FC and OL Reign make a difference in the community, including both teams' partnership with Intentionalist. Intentionalist founder and CEO Laura Clise was quoted in the article:"Part of the work that we’re able to do with the Sounders and other teams comes back to the power of acknowledging and celebrating the diversity in our shared humanity,” Clise said. “Where we spend matters because people matter and community matters. In a world where the challenges and the tragedies absolutely and rightfully feel overwhelming, what we do in those moments is turn to people that we trust. We reach out to connect to community and that’s how we find our way forward.”
