We are excited to report that we recently received an additional $50K grant award from the National Institute of Aging through their Technical and Business Assessment (TABA) program. This money will be used to develop our B2B2C healthcare business model regarding selling our software and device to doctors, psychologists, and coaches. Now that we built the first Sleep Operating System and have the plans to validate it in a clinical trial (starting in a few months), we need help to navigate the regulatory aspects of our technology. So we recruited Nixon Gwelt Law, who has expertise in obtaining billable insurance codes for startups. The NIH grant will go towards developing materials so we can be successful selling to doctors and hospitals, while also speaking to the FDA about getting 510(k) approval for our system. One potential outcome of this funding is a way to access new billing codes so that doctors and care providers can make more money when using our system and can increase the efficacy of their treatment. SleepSpace has potential for diagnosing and treating insomnia and other sleep disorders. When sleep is finally taken seriously in the broken medical system, there will be a dramatic shift away from illness and towards wellness that will make our society much healthier and happier.
