Our first convention and what we're thankful for! | Pencilish Animation Studios presents... - Canonical URL: https://wefunder.com/feed/150673 - Entity ID: wefunder:feed_item:150673 - Published at: 2021-11-25 21:14:30 UTC - Updated at: 2025-07-09 03:21:11 UTC ## Author Tom Bancroft ## Subject Pencilish Animation Studios presents... ## Content Hello Pencilishers! It's Thanksgiving day and I felt the need to tell you this- we are THANKFUL for all of you! Because of you, we are creating characters and stories I've been wanting to tell my entire career! We are also making other creator's dream projects and making them a part of our dreams also! We are giving opportunities and mentorship to amazingly talented up and coming artists/creators! Lastly, we are creating a BUSINESS that could be very valuable in the near future- by not just developing things on paper but PRODUCING those concepts into a content library! Phase 1 of our launch is going well and is right on track! We will have original shows on our Youtube Channel in Q1 of 2022. In the meantime, we felt it was important to attend our first convention! Myself and Pam Darley, our animation producer, did a lean trip to the CTN ANIMATION EXPO in Burbank, CA. Our goal was to create some buzz about our new shows, meet with artists for possible freelance positions, sell some merchandising, and let the larger studios know we are here and moving forward in a big way! Also, we did some raffles for some original art I drew! It was a success! People were glued to the large screens we had showcasing our first animation tests and concept art for our three Phase 1 shows: Bjorn the Last Unicorn (one man's quote upon seeing our banner with Bjorn on it: "My 14 year old daughter would LOVE that character!"), Mind over Murphy (the concept art was a HUGE hit, thank you Pedro and your team in Spain!), and JuJu Brain! Here's some photos, mostly of us setting up the booth (and shot by a shy Pam, not pictured anywhere:). My twin brother, Tony- also a Pencilish advisor, was next to our booth and we did multiple panels together as moderators. Lot's of fun! And-how cool was this?!?- we had MANY people come up and say they were investors in Pencilish (which ALWAYS got them a free Pencilish sticker as well as a discount on merch) but ALSO, another investor came up and introduced herself as , Claire Dodin, one of our VOICE ACTORS for the ex-girlfriend character in our series "Mind Over Murphy"! She hadn't seen the character she is playing and we took a photo of her, me and her character! A real highlight of the show! Happy Thanksgiving and more updates before Christmas! Hollywood is shutting down now, but we sure aren't! Big announcements coming soon!  Viva La Animation Revolution! -Tom B.
