We are overjoyed with gratitude that other like-minded changemakers not only see the opportunity to prosper for our planet but are taking action into their own hands. Our impact, together, will drawdown thousands of tons of carbon from our atmosphere. Even with this incredible feat, we know we’re not done yet, we know we have more work to do, and we are just getting started. Old-growth forests have been under threat for their abundance of resources for centuries. At the same time, the United Nations forecasts that global demand for lumber will double by 2050. The fact is trees take a long time to grow and we do not have sufficient supply to meet our future needs. The consequences of this are environmentally devastating: deforestation, soil erosion, and the extinction of many popular hardwoods such as Red Cedar. Furthermore, these lands have the power to sequester massive amounts of carbon, once scathed, their ability to regulate the surrounding ecology dissolves.  Yet, this environmental challenge presents a rich opportunity.
