One of the challenges of a small, early-stage company is “doing things the right way”, i.e., building a culture of sustainability while also staying focused on building a profitable business. From the beginning, our team founded Ghost Flower with the goal of providing designs for a roadmap to health.&nbsp;Our tagline is, “Wellness You Can Wear!”&nbsp;A natural extension of this focus is to do our part related to the health of our planet. We are a very small company with limited resources, but there are things we are doing to help and have plans to do even more as we grow.&nbsp;In the short term, our list of sustainability efforts includes the following:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Manufacturing locally.&nbsp;&nbsp;We choose to manufacture all our products in the USA.&nbsp;This means a significant reduction in our carbon footprint, and the benefit of helping local ethical businesses and jobs with healthy work practices.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Building our clothes to last.&nbsp;&nbsp;We have put a strong focus on quality materials and excellent construction with the goal of building apparel that lasts, so fewer pieces end up as waste in the landfills.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Seamless.&nbsp;&nbsp;About 1/3 of our apparel is made with seamless fabric.&nbsp;&nbsp;This means we build the whole product in real time with zero wasted material. We literally manufacture the clothes from spools of thread at the manufacturer.&nbsp;The only shipping required is thread, which is a much smaller carbon footprint than rolls of material.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;R&D. We have done much research on sourcing high performance fabrics and packaging that are earth friendly.&nbsp;For the future, we plan to incorporate recycled materials, organic cottons, bamboo, and other eco-friendly fabrics that require less water to manufacture and are both functional and stylish.&nbsp;We have already designed our future packaging that will be made of recycled or compostable materials. We are also exploring legitimate ways to offset the carbon footprint related to manufacturing and transporting our products to our fulfillment center and to our customers.&nbsp;&nbsp;We hope you will support Ghost Flower with our mission of creating not only beautiful and functional activewear that supports our customers on their wellness journey, but also to do our part on sustainability for our planet.&nbsp;We understand our personal health is a reflection of the health of the planet.
