Hi All!It’s hard to believe that we're already 3 months into our Mainstem For All campaign here on Wefunder. I’ll start with a huge THANK YOU to all of the folks who’ve joined us so far. And if you’re new to the party, welcome aboard! We just got approved for an extension and will now be running the campaign until November 18, giving us all 4 more months to make the most of it together. Some updates for your reading & listening pleasure (below the photo):[Photo: 7/5/2021, Phil standing in a barley field near Latah, WA, split between Genie, Lyon, and Palmer varieties, grown by Mainstem farmer & investor Matt Horlacher of Horlacher Farms.]PROGRESS: For starters, I’m very proud of how far we’ve come in this time. Raising $109k (10.9% of our $1MM goal) from 145 investors (14.5% of our 1000 investor goal) is no insignificant feat, and the myriad connections being made along the way bode very well for Mainstem’s future. This network can move mountains and with any luck it will.PACE: I’ll be frank that we’re running well behind the pace we need to get to $1MM in the next 4 months. Mainstem is part of a surge of companies raising right now across crowdfunding platforms, the platforms themselves are rallying to boost their investor networks in a way that can support this kind of deal volume, and until then, companies like Mainstem need to work double time to bring their own investors into the platforms. Know that we’re working on it and see huge potential to run this campaign beyond $500k in the next 4 months. The potential to start trending in the right investor circles and get to $1MM is still very much there.FOOD FUNDED 2021: Fortunately, we’re starting off the campaign’s second half with a really nice kicker. As I announced in the update before this, Mainstem has been selected as a finalist in the Food Funded 2021 Conference. This is a great group of high net worth and institutional impact investors with strong strategic value in the food & beverage space, and it’s a relatively new group to us. Given the conference focus on climate action and regenerative enterprise, we’re a fantastic fit and see a lot of potential for new investors to flow in from this event. We’d love for you to be a part of the audience and cheer us on. RSVP at foodfunded.eventbrite.com and use the Friends of Finalist discount code “FF21FIN” if the savings would be helpful to you.INVESTOR CALLS TO ACTION: We need your help in a few different ways.(1) If you’ve been following along and are still on the fence about investing, please consider a small investment to help us kick this campaign in the pants. You can always increase it later if we’re so lucky to earn your trust.(2) If you’ve already invested, consider upping your investment to take advantage of the remaining early bird terms. And please add a testimonial on why you care enough to invest, if you haven’t already.(3) Tell your friends!(4) If you want us to tell your friends directly, shoot me an email at phil@mainstemmalt.com and I’ll set up a videoconference to pitch you all virtually.(5) If you have any good ideas or opportunities for us to be reaching a bigger audience, you know how to reach me!(6) We believe in Wefunder and urge you to give it a shot for more than just Mainstem. Invest what you can afford to lose into a handful of companies you believe in, and hope to be part of their success. It's really a beautiful thing happening here.RECENT MEDIA COVERAGE: If you’d like to read about us in articles and hear about us on podcasts, here are a couple recent links to whet your whistle. There should also be a fun one coming out here shortly on Medium.com, diving deeper into our origin story. And if you know of any great journalists or podcasters who may like to cover us, please send them our way.Beer Sessions Radio podcast // Transparency and Storytelling in the Craft Malt Supply Chain // Brandon Howard of Amalga Distillery (our lead investor), Emily Hutto of RadCraft Communications, our COO Kether Scharff-Gray, and I talk about Mainstem and the broader craft malt movement.Fueled by Hops // Meet the Curious Mind at Work in Supply Chain Management at Mainstem Malt // Kether reflects on her unique job with Mainstem.2021 CROP & CONSERVATION TOUR: We're putting on a little event in Walla Walla at the end of July for brewers, distillers, and front of house folks. The start of a new tradition for us. Learn more about that here and please share it with folks who may want to participate. Thanks for following along, folks. Know we're grateful for anything you can do (or have already done) to give Mainstem a boost, however big or small. Wish me luck in this week’s pitch! With hope,Phil
