Dear LiteraSeed Supporters, We’ve had another wonderful month on the LiteraSeed pilot with Valleywise Health. Here are some quick updates: Pilot We’ve enrolled now over 30 patients into our study. Here are three success stories of how LiteraSeed has already helped medical providers and patients: Symptom Identification: 60+ y/o, non-English speaking, refugee patient coming in for a results reading was discovered by LiteraSeed to have 3 symptoms related to the management of a pre-existing chronic disease, which could have been missed. Reason for Visit: The LiteraSeed report was more specific than the reason for the appointment, which stated “abdominal pain”, which was not accurate as the patient had chest pain. COVID-19: LiteraSeed alerted the doctor to a recent COVID infection and facilitated dialogue about recovery.Next, we will be training new pilot study staff. Together with planned product changes, this will enable us to enroll more patients, sooner, to reach our 300 participant goal in our pilot study. Product Observing in real-time our patients and providers interact with and use the LiteraSeed app to prepare for their clinical visits has gained us many interesting insights into product usage as well as existing patient-provider communication challenges.&nbsp;👉 For example, capturing accurate pain symptoms from patients has always been difficult even for medical providers.&nbsp;👉 By gaining these insights, we were able to make quick changes (e.g., updating the graphics and reframing the question) in the app, and we’re already seeing more patients select their pain symptoms. We hope this can help make the processes easier for providers to further dive into these symptoms, focusing on what matters most during each visit.&nbsp;👉 Additionally, 2 out of 3 providers rate us a 4 out of 5 average on preparedness. (Preparedness being how prepared they were by having a LiteraSeed symptoms report before the patient encounter.) The data and insights are being translated into product improvements that will enable greater accuracy, relevance, and usefulness/utility of our product in achieving our aim to improve healthcare for all by bridging the patient-provider communication gaps and enabling a consistent understanding of symptoms, including for patients who struggle with literacy and language.&nbsp;What you can do👉 Interested in exclusive insider updates on LiteraSeed?
