I have just responded to an inquiry about projected revenue for OsNovum. I used percutaneous vertebroplasty as an example of how common collapsed vertebra are and the cost associated with treatment. I used these figures to give an idea of how OsNovum can be used for this problem and how much revenue can be generated. Percutaneous vertebroplasty injects plastic into the vertebrae to support it and stabilize it. The plastic never goes away. The type of material used in percutaneous vertebroplasty and this type of therapy is contrary to our philosophy at SteinerBio/OsNovum. We are only interested in tissue regeneration and we believe that any material should aid the body’s ability to heal itself and then get out of the way. After regeneration all material should be resorbed or the tissue will not be normal and will not function normally. The benefits of our philosophy is born out again as while percutaneous vertebroplasty is common it is also ineffective. The following study finds it provides no benefit and in our opinion physicians and patients are looking for a product like OsNovum.
